#TGIF231 Woven Heirlooms Goes Christmassy

caOur challenge is a bit different this week for #TGIF231.  We have been given the task to be inspired by page 12 of the Creativity is Calling Annual Stampin' Up! Catalog.

One of my most favorite samples in the entire catalog is the Pretty Peacock card with the rectangle frame and floral accent.  I have already cased that card once before and I find myself loving the look and color that I had to go for it a second time.  This time with a Christmas theme.

This card packs ton of texture and tone on tone patterns all in the awesome Pretty Peacock palette.  The Woven Heirlooms frame is embossed with the coordinating folder, but it looks a bit different because I glued the center of the frame back inside for an added layer.  Another layer that my be tricky to see is the stitched circle.  It too is in the same patterned paper.  I love all the gooey luxurious layers.  They seem so decadent like the holiday decor that decks our homes.

Fancy Floral Friday

Welcome to our floral inspired Fancy Friday Blog Hop.  You may have just visited with Teneale Williams and seen her gorgeous floral project.  I am always drawn to and blown away by her fabulous layouts, color choices, and details.

For my spin on this month's theme I went for a more freaky funky spooky sparkly floral themed Halloween card featuring the Morning Magnolia Dies, the Ornate Frames Dies, the Spooktacular Bash Stamp Set, and the Monster Bash Designer Series Paper.

I cut all the flowers using the Magnolia Morning Dies from Basic Black Cardstock.   I crunched them all up before brushing them with Frost White Shimmer Paint.  The flower centers come from the Monster Bash Enamel Shapes.  Also from that pack of shapes are two little round accents on the Crushed Curry ornate frame.  Speaking of frames the black frame is cut from Black Foil Paper which adds such a cool detail to the blend of elements.

For the banner flag layer I cut that using the Stitched Rectangle Dies.  First I cut the rectangle then I ran it back through to be cut a second time to cut the fish tail.  I turned the die on an angle and then could have the cool look of the stitching all the way around.

Get ready folks because your next stop is with the sweet and adorable Sylwia Schreck.  She is one amazing creator and her photographs are always so inspiring--enjoy!

Hand Stamped Sentiments Color Challenge

These colors, hosted by Hand Stamped Sentiments, sing to my stampin' soul!  I think it's the Pretty Peacock that makes me so happy.  It's a color that mixes with so many other hues--it's magic.

With this color challenge in mind I thought I would pull out a stamp set that hadn't seen ink in quite some time.  For me that would be the Painted Harvest set which I knew would be perfect for what I had in mind for this color combo.

To achieve the look for the sunflower I did lots of test stampin'.  I tried stamping Grapefruit Grove as the first step/layer of petals with Terracotta Tile on top as the second step, but that was too harsh.  After several other attempts I finally decided on stamping off the Terracotta Tile for the first layer of flower petals and then full strength for the second.  The leaves are Mint Macaron and stamped off Pretty Peacock.

The gingham pattern paper comes from the 2019-2021 In Color Pack and it's edged with a piece of Lace Trim.  I couldn't leave Grapefruit Grove out of the mix here since it is a challenge color.  I grabbed my Stampin' Write Marker in that color and splattered light flecks all over the finished focal layer.  I love those types of little details.  It makes the crisp white layer seem not so stark.

Doily Garland

Welcome everyone to another Monday Montage Blog Hop.  If you know me very well you would know that I am a garland and banner freak.  I love all types and have lots for every season.  This card features a lacy banner with vellum flowers.  I love the finished look and have been inspired to make more decorative fall garlands using the Doily Wishes Dies (come back Oct. 5th).

Thanks for stopping by to see what's been up at my stamp table.  Next up, the wonderful Julie Warnick.  Let's see what she has been creating these past few days.

Gettin' Sketchy for Hand Stamped Sentiments

It's beginning to get chilly in the evening and the days don't seem quite as long.  I am feeling the season changing and so I am getting in the mood for fun and festive fall projects.  For our new sketch challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments I decided to bust out the Monster Bash Bundle.

The Spooktacular Bash Stamp Set and the Ornate Frames Dies make up the Monster Bash Bundle.  I used both of those along with Monster Bash Designer Series Paper on this card.  I stamped with Momento Ink on Very Vanilla Cardstock and then colored with Stampin' Blends.  To get an eerie look I scribbled over each colored image with the Color Lifter Stampin' Blend.  Now this only works if your Color Lifter is like mine and a bit dirty!

What I absolutely love about making anything for Halloween is if you make a smudge, smear, tear, or color outside the lines it's totally okay.  In fact this card features smearing, like I mentioned, and splattering with a Wink of Stella Brush.

Wish For it All

Welcome to another Monday Montage Blog Hop.  We are happy to have you join us.  Did you arrive from Dani's Thoughtful Corner?  Her projects are always fantastic and inspiring.  For this hop I thought I would share my spirited blue and purple birthday card.

Have you had the chance to look close at the Wish For It All Stamp Set and Doily Wishes Dies? This bundle is packed with all kinds of intricate images and elements that are SUPER versatile and delightfully decorative at the same time.

With Stampin' Write Markers I inked up the birthday cake and candles image.  This classic old school stampin' technique is probably one of my most favorite approaches to coloring.  The sparkling sapphire blue details are the Noble Peacock Foil Papers and the Noble Peacock Rhinestone Embellishments.  I love how they blend with Pacific Point and Blueberry Bushel cardstocks.

My favorite touch are the rectangle doily shapes at the top and bottom of the white Stitched Nesting Die panel.  Those were cut using the candles in the Doily Wishes Dies.  I simple snipped the wick and flame off to turn the candle shape into a plain rectangle.

Guess what?  You are heading over to see the Stamp Doc!  She has definitely got the cure for your stampin' needs.  Enjoy and have fun inking and stampin' up all things fabulous.

His and Hers Blog Hop

Guess what our theme is for September's Creation Station Blog Hop?  It's his and hers.  We thought it would be cool to design a card for him and then case it and make another card for her.

I pulled all my cues for my "his" card from my very feminine floral card.  I have textured embossing, heat embossing, foil die cutes, blender pen coloring, and accents in the same positions.

His card ingredients include:
Geared Up Garage Stamp Set | Garage Gears Dies | Pretty Peacock Cardstock
Woven Threads DSP | Basket Weave 3D Folder (backwards) | Noble Peacock Foil Sheets
Black Shimmer Embossing Powder | Versamark Ink
Bermuda Bay, Pool Party, and Whisper White Cardstocks
Pretty Peacock, Pool Party, and Smokey Slate Stampin' Blends | Glitter Enamel Dots

Hers card ingredients include:
Band Together Stamp Set | Detailed Bands Dies | Seaside Spray Cardstock | 2019-21 In Color DSP
Scripty 3D Embossing Folder | Champagne Foil | Versamark Ink | White Embossing Powder
Old Olive, Soft Seafood, and Whisper White Cardstocks | Crumb Cake Ink Pad
Seaside Spray, Soft Seafood, and Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends | In Color Faceted Dots

Are you lovin' our his and hers theme?  I had tons of fun taking cues from one card to flip it from one feel to another.  Let's take a trip on over to see what Denita has crafted for this month's Creation Station Blog Hop His and Hers theme.
