A Sneak Peak

Take a look at the chocolate nugget tin we are making at my class this Saturday.   The second project is based on Janine Tinklenberg's purse pattern.  She very cleverly arranged two envelopes to create this fold out purse book which is perfect for photos, coupons, or journaling great thoughts. We'll also be making this project in class this Saturday.  All supplies are from SU! with exception to the tin and the Hershey nuggets.  I hope you can come.

An Addicting Technique -- Black Magic!

Here is a card from a couple classes back.  The technique is called "Black Magic" and it is super fun.  To achieve this look: first, stamp a bold image with Craft White ink, let it dry or heat set for a quick dry, then color directly over the white image with Pure Color Pencils.  Try blending and layering color over color for an awesome effect.  All supplies are from SU!  I tell ya, this technique is addicting.  Go stamp and have fun.

Here Kitty Kitty!

When the Fall/Winter SU! Catalog and Idea Book first came out last summer Here Kitty Kitty was the first set I bought. Go figure--I don't know why I had to have the set since I am a total dog person.  I used a piece of chipboard from the On Board Accents as a template to cut my four circle double mat.  The card layout was inspired by a card I saw online. The color combo, which is very unusual for me, was my take on a calico cat.  Enjoy!

Julie's Favor

Check out this cool party favor made by Julie B.  She has personalized the can both inside and out. How did she do that?  You can find out at my "Artshow" class on Saturday, April 26th. This class will feature the Just Like You stamp set.  We are going to make projects with a party flair and we'll even stamp cards to donate to the Ronald McDonald House.

I Call it the Frog Fold!

A big thank you to Jena Haux for teaching this cool fold at the Stampin' Up! Oakland Regional event.  I can't remember what she called the the fold so, I call it the frog fold.  All supplies are from SU!  This is one of the four projects for Friday night's Technique Time! class.  And guess what--it's finished with glitter.

Just Like You!

I am planning to have a McDonald's themed stamp party. Anyone who loves french fries and to stamp for a great cause is invited.  We'll be making double projects, one set to take home and one set to donate to the Ronald McDonald Charities.  All projects will feature the stamp set Just Like You from Stampin' Up!  Look for more information soon and join me in "making a difference."

Rustic Dad's Book!

I am working on a book for Father's Day.  It is made with the chocolate chip square envelopes that come with the carousel notecards from the Occasions Mini catalog.  I have also used the Western Sky dsp, Wanted and Bronc Buster stamp sets, the Silver Hodgepodge Hardware, buttons, ribbon, and the coolest thing ever.  I'll tell you about the other "cool" element in a future post with more pictures showcasing this dad's book. Or, you can see it in person at my Technique Time! class this Friday, April 11th at 6:30m p.m.

Soft Sky + Groovy Guava + Chocolate Chip = Sophisticated Spring Color Combo

Playing off of the Afternoon Tea dsp color palette these cards both use Soft Sky, Groovy Guava, and Chocolate Chip.  The "You Look Fabulous" card was made by my amazing stampin'-friend Julie B.  She always puts together great cards.  We are in a swap group with seven other friends from near (San Jose CA) and far (Iowa) and even farther (Qatar). The stamp set Julie used, She's All That, is found in the Mini Occasions catalog.

The second card is one I made using the Essence of Love stamp set also found in the Mini Occasions catalog.  I came up with the card after noticing scraps on my table that looked good together.  I decided they would make a clean 3 x 6 card.  I especially like the focal image being stamped with white ink on the dark cardstock.  Yes, there is glitter on this card.  I sprayed the top third of the card with AquaNet hairspray and while it was still wet I sprinkled the glitter.  The butterfly is cool if you look at it closely.  I inked up the image with a Soft Sky pad and then a Cameo Coral marker.  Before stamping the image I used the "thinking of you" stamp, which was inked in Chocolate Chip, and bounced it randomly on the butterfly.  I huffed and then stamped!

For the Birds!

Julie B. made these bird cards.  I love the color combinations and the details. On the "you're the best" card she used an oval punch to create a stencil.  She sponged inside the oval stencil to create a place for the bird to stand.  Thanks for the cards Julie!

Chunky Glitter -- AWESOME!

You know me, I think that glitter makes everything better.  Chunky glitter is bigger flecks of shine and sparkle and is equally as great as fine glitters.  This card came together very easily because when you have good supplies it just happens.  I used the Sticky Cuts Letters, Chunky Essentials red glitter, Urban West rub ons, and the Pretties Kit from SU!  The background is stamped with Pretty Petals stamp which I have to say is a must have item.

Hello!

Here is an easy to make card. I have used the Cutie Pie DSP and Hi and Hello stamp set from SU! My favorite part to the card is the Build A Brad embellishment.  Enjoy!
