Tiny Table Tags

I mentioned in my last Monday Montage Blog Hop post that I received a generous tip from a client for designing and setting up her family's Thanksgiving table.  I said I would post pictures from the set up and so...
here they are.
The last thing I set were the guest's pumpkin placecards.  The tiny tags were made with Stampin' Up! tools and card stocks.  For the first name tag layer I used the smallest oval, which is Crumb Cake, from the Stitched Shapes Framelits.  The next layers are Mint Macaron and Very Vanilla cut with the Ovals Layering Framelits.  And then, the last layer is Copper Foil cut from the Tags and Labels Framelits.

What would I do without my fabulous stash of tools and supplies from Stampin' Up!?
Rentals for the table came from both La Tavola Linens and Hensley Event Resources.  The linens are called Neiman in the Ecru color and are king drape size.  I needed three to fit the client's "L" shaped table to seat 21 guests.  The chairs and place settings came from Hensley and were perfect for the look I wanted.  I love their Antique Wood Infinity Chairs with Ivory Velour Cushions.  This is the second event in a few months that I have used these--they're beautiful!
Of course all the flowers, garland, pumpkins, candle work, and mercury glass vases came from Bloomster's.  We included eucalyptus, olive, and dusty miller leaves along with eucalyptus pods and berries for the garland runner, which we laid out first.  Then we tucked in mixed grey, green, and white leafy styled bouquets created in grey toned wooden boxes into the garland.  Lumina and Jarahdell pumpkins along with pinecones, and miniature white pumpkins finished up the fresh floral decor for the table.

I hope you have enjoyed a look into what I do.

Monday Montage #83

It's been a tasty holiday weekend and what better way to top it off than a Monday Montage Blog Hop.  I had a fun opportunity last Wednesday to design and set up a GORGEOUS kings table to seat 21 guests for a client of ours.  (I'll show you pics later)  As I left the set up I was handed an awesome tip which made me feel so appreciated.

This coming giving season we find ourselves tipping and thanking those who serve us.  What cuter way to give a tip than in a sparkling card.  It's a perfect idea.  A pocket for the tip and a space to write a note of thanks.

TGIF #83 Spotlighting Cathy Caines

Now this is a fun one!  The challenge this week at TGIF is to be inspired by the most unique and stylish Cathy Caines.  She is a forward thinking paper crafter who has a style all her own that draws me in and inspires me.  When I think of Cathy I think watercolor, blue tones, grouped layers placed with skilled panache, and Project Life!  Hop over to Cathy's blog In the Cat Cave and check it all out.
For this watercolored background I start by scribbling a bunch of blue tones all over a piece of shimmer White card stock.  Sribbling, you ask?  Yes, with the new Watercolor Pencils which are in the up and coming Occasions Catalog.  I was lucky to receive a pack a the end of Onstage in Phoenix.  So, after the sribbling I took an Aqua Painter to blend the colors and then sprinkled a bit of sea salt on the wet paper to create more visual texture.

Tons of Tags from the Hello December 2016 PL Card Collection

Want to make one of a kind Christmas tags?  Pick yourself up a pack of the Hello December 2016 Project Life Card Collection and you can make up to 72 tags.  I made 66 and have most of them in a video.  Yes, I said video.  It's a rare thing for me to make a video, but a video slide show was the best way to share these.  Enjoy!

Gift Bag Happiness

We have a clean and simple sketch for the challenge this week at Hand Stamped Sentiments.  But you don't have to limit the sketch to cards.  How about incorporating the layout for the decorating of a gift bag?
To give this bag extra panache I first ran it through the Cable Knit Dynamic TIEF.  Then a strip of Warmth and Cheer DSP accented with a Peaceful Pine Tree cutout and a greeting.  The "joy" is cut from Red Glimmer Paper using the Wonderful Wreath Framelits.
A quick and simple closure includes a Gold 1/4" Natural Trim with a Gold Binder Clip.

I'm Gettin' Ready for Christmas

Cards made -- check.  Tags made -- check.  A few presents purchased -- check.  Bulk chocolate chips picked up -- check.  I am getting ready for Christmas here and there and at this point I have the best stash of tags made ever.  Today I have posted a few from my stamp class this past week.  If you come back to our next Monday Montage Hop and I will show some of the 68, yes I said 68, tags I made using the Hello December 2016 Project Life Card Collection.  But, for now here are a few that were inspired by the color palette of the Hello December 2016 Project Life products.
Both styles of tags include the Stitched Shape Framelits.  These are AWESOME.  Get them now while you can.  They are $30 US and include 12 pieces.  After November you won't be able to get them until the 2017 Annual Catalog is released in June.
Look at this super awesome textured embossing.  It has been done using the Cable Knit Dynamic folder.  It's GLORIOUS!!  Seriously, every time I run it through my Big Shot I'm so impressed with myself for buying such an awesome little goodie.
We all hope you are enjoying this week's hop.  Your next stop is with Julie Warnick; you'll love her post.
Smiles, Elizabeth

Creation Station Thanks

In everything give thanks!  And, I do.  There are countless blessings for which to be grateful; I am thankful for family, friends, my faith in God, my talents and abilities, health, home, work, ... and for sure rubber stamps, ink, paper, scissors (in the form of Framelits/Thinlits), and being able to craft.

Our theme this month for the Creation Station blog hop is "thanks."  Here in America we will celebrate Thanksgiving in just a few days and so our theme may be infused with the upcoming holiday, but we all know the spirit of gratitude is everywhere and anywhere at all times and places.  The more we recognize it and praise it the better we all are.
This fall themed gift is a perfect way to say thanks for all you do for anyone who loves a cold glass of bubbly yumminess.  This sweet bottle of sparkling cider is all dressed up in a cello bag collared with a unique paper bow, a faux stitched tag, and two beautiful leaves from my front yard.

Can I digress here and say "I love these big huge leaves that cover my front yard every November.  They are gloriously ginormous and perfect for decorating in so many ways.  I have arranged them down the center of a table as a runner, tucked them under pumpkins to give them a bit of pizzazz, tucked them under pillar candles on candle sticks, wrapped them around napkins, and now added them to gift packaging.

Okay, back to the project.  Below are a few tips on how to make a paper ribbon bow.
Cut six to seven 3/4" x 11" strips of card stock.  Run them over a bone folder, twice on one side then flip it over and run it over a couple times.  Repeat until the paper fibers are loosened enough to split apart.
Gently pull apart the card stock strips.
(did you notice that super cool bone folder I have.  It's from Mercedes Weber--thanks friend!)
Gather and pinch one of the strips and hold it with one hand.
Using your free hand make a loop.  Gather, twist, and pinch the end of the loop and hold it with one hand.  Note, the twist is important to keep your front side of the ribbon/paper showing AND to give the bow fullness.
Add another strip of paper and keep adding more loops until the bow is the size you need.
Check out the Stitched Shape Framelits.  They are available as a sneak peak item this month only.  You get 12 dies in the set.  Four squares, four ovals, and four circles that coordinate amazingly with the Layered Framelit sets in the main catalog.  In June they will be available again in the 2017 Annual Catalog.
A big thank you for sharing in our "Thankfulness" themed hop this month here at the Creation Station.  Your next blog is The Creativity Cave.  Go and check out what fabulousness Dena Rekow has to share with us all.
Have a great day, Elizabeth
