#TGIF101

It's March Madness which makes for an "anything goes" challenge at #TGIF101.  In my mind the perfect bundle for awesome themed challenge is the Birthday Blast stamp set and Star Blast Thinlets.
For this card and gift box pair I have included some of the Cool Treats DSP with Whisper White, Bermuda Bay, and Soft Sky.  I also thought it would be fun to show the Star Blast Thinlets on a card front and in SD as a box topper.  These Thinlets are super SUPER cool and I'm totally happy to have them in my stash of goodies.

#TGIF100 Celebrate With Us

We are #TGIF100 challenges strong!!!  Join us for our 100th Celebration Challenge spotlighting our founding team member the amazing Mercedes Weber!
Mercedes is a totally amazing paper craft designer and she inspires me each time I see her blog and Facebook posts.  I especially love when she posts about her family and how her daughters love to paper craft too.

When I think of Mercedes style I often think of centering the focal point of the card to a right justification.  She has had several cards lately where she has included splashes of Watermelon Wonder and she always plays with layers that create great style and visual depth.

HSS #260

It's a new challenge day over at Hand Stamped Sentiments!  This is a totally cute one.  Just be inspired and create whatever comes to mind.
I had some fun playing with the Happy Celebrations stamp set and Celebrations Duo TIEFs.  First I embossed then I stamped the splatter image over and over.
Each time I inked up my stamp I spritzed it with water which gives a cool blended look.  Once I finished with the Dapper Denim, and it was dry, I stamped the "happy" shadow image with Whisper White.  For the shimmer I used Heat and Stick to adhere Dazzling Diamonds Glitter.

Monday Montage For You

Howdy Monday Montage friends.  For this hop I have an Oh So Succulent hand painted card made with some of my favorite colors.  I love the mix of Pear Pizzazz and Pool Party, or a deeper blend of Old Olive and Bermuda Bay.
To start this card I stamped images from the Oh So Succulent set randomly on a panel of Thick Whisper White Card Stock using Basic Black Archival Ink.  Then I watercolored Pear Pizzazz and Pool Party over all the background being super careful not to over work the paper.  I could have used a heavier water color paper but I wanted the crisp clean look of white for this card.
A few more details for the card include: a Soft Sky card base, Playful Palette DSP, Mini Treat Bag and Bunch of Banners Framelits, Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper, Delicate White Doily, Metal Rimmed Pearl Accents, Petite Petals Punch, and Linen Thread
It has been a joy to have you pop by my Blog.  You are now headed to Kaitlyn's to be truly inspired!

#TGIF99 Happy Celebrations

Baby! Oh, Baby! is this week's challenge at #TGIF99.   A perfect stamp set for this theme is Happy Celebrations and the coordinating Celebration Duo TIEFs.
I had this total challenge for myself for this theme and that was to use and conquer the Detailed Floral Thinlets. Conquer you ask?  Yes, conquer.  Every time I have set out to use these dies I have failed to make anything more than a mess.  I was determined and I finally succeeded and all I needed was a stinking' shim!  Yeah it finally cut all the way through in all areas and I had good pieces to work with.
#tgifc99 Baby! Oh, Baby!
I decided I would mix the fancy floral lacy cut outs with the more clean lined whimsical look of the Happy Celelbrations and the curved banner.  The blend lends to a more juxtaposed look that I kind of like.  A touch that doesn't stand out very much is the Petal Burst embossing which I kind of like that texture on texture look.  But my favorite things on this card are the wooden elements.
I doubled up the wooden heart and flower because when I had just one layer it was too wimpy and flat.

#HSS259 and SAB DSP

It always amazes me at how much fun a sketch challenge can be.  Our latest challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments is this ultra cool layout that can work in lots of ways.
I've included a small panel of the Inside the Lines DSP just behind the greeting.  Instead of coloring the flowers and leaves I added some Bermuda Bay watercolor to the background areas.  I really like how it pops the images forward.

Envelope Punch Board Rick Rack

For this Monday Montage Blog Hop I am sharing Part II of my baskets post.  Earlier today I posted Part I.  So, now it's time to let you see another basket and how to make paper rick rack using an Envelope Punch Board.
My post earlier today included some Easter themed bag/baskets with rick rack handles.  I mentioned in that post that I would share how I make them using an Envelope Punch Board.  Scroll down for a quick tutorial.
Here's how to make the rick rack handle:
Cut a 1" x 11" strip of card stock or DSP.  Using the Envelope Punch Board punch the long edge of the strip at 5", 4", 3", 2", and 1".
To punch the end of the strip place the the edge of the card stock in the middle of the punch and punch.  Complete the second half of the same long edge by flipping the strip to finish by punching on the same measurements as before.
Now you're ready to scallop the opposite edge.  Align the points of the scallops evenly in the middle of the punch (yes eye ball this) and continue all the way down the strip.  You will notice that as you punch this side the points of the scallop of the first edge will line up with 1/2" increment marks.
I was on a role making cute spring and Easter crafts so I had to put together a couple small 3" x 3" cards using up the bits and pieces I stamped using the Basket Bunch Bundle.

With a  sincere heart I thank you for stopping here at SeeingInkSpots on our Monday Montage Blog Hop.  For sure your will enjoy your next stop with Julie.  Or, maybe you're clicking back to Dara, so have fun.  Smiles, Elizabeth

Boxes, Baskets, and Bags Oh My!

Welcome everyone to my SeeingInkSpots Blog and our Creation Station monthly blog hop.  Our Boxes, Baskets, and Bags Oh My theme is perfectly timed for Spring holidays and treats.
I made several types of hybrid baskets that each include a rick rack woven handle.  How do you make paper rick rack you ask?  Grab your Envelope Punch Board and punch away.  Stay tuned for a second post later today for a how to on making the rick rack strips.  (rick rack tutorial link)
I have used papers and colors from the Succulent Garden DSP, the Oh So Succulents stamps and framelits, and the Basket Bunch stamps and framelits.  This first basket is part box, part bag, and part basket.  The bottom is a card stock box minus the lid, a piece of DSP creates the bag appearance, and the rick rack handle makes this a bit more like a basket.
The inside of the box-bag-basket is lined with Mint Macaron grass cut from the Basket Builder Framelit set.
To make the box bottom piece I used my Envelope Punch Board.  Instead of folding the card stock into an envelope I just folded the flaps upward and wrapped Tear and Tape all the way around to hold the shape and to attach the DSP.
The Egg Carton Boxes are the coolest.  They take ink so well.  Just mix rubbing alcohol with ink refill drops and spritz--easy easy peasy.
From my blog you can hop click over to Kathy or back to Julie and have some fun!  Until next month enjoy and lots of happy stampin'.
