#TGIF127 Tic Tac Toe

We are playing tic-tac-toe at TGIF this week.
Check out all the cool entries at #TGIF127 then play a game and link up with us.
This challenge had me stumped, in fact I thought I would be playing a "cats" game and not make three in a row.  Finally, I got my game on and was able to get my act together to get three in a row that included water color, twine/ribbon, and paper piecing.
I stamped the pig image on a piece of Bundle of Love Specialty DSP using Basic Grey ink.  Then a quick fussy cut and I had my first corner (to win you always go of a corner first).  Next, I needed a backdrop for the piggy so I went for another corner and busted out some inks and Watercolor Paper.  When looking at using the "hogs and kisses" greeting I decided to try some of my own non-traditional paper piecing by cutting up some Lovely Words Thinlits cutouts to manipulate and transform hugs to "hogs."
Last, the winning square was twine/ribbon.  Slam dunk I can do twine anytime!  In fact I may have a bit of an addition to twine.  I love twine just as much as shiny stuff.  Go figure that's why I have Mini Gold Sequins and Gold Glimmer Paper on this card.  Oh wait, there's more shine--I added some 2016-2018 In Color Glitter Acrylic Shapes.  These are super cute, but I don't see them too often or maybe I'm just not paying attention.  I will wrap it up by saying I am happy to add twine and shine any time ;0)

Flying Pig for a Sketch Challenge

It seems that lately I have been stamping lots of Halloween and fall treats and cards.  I was in the mood for a bit of a change, so grabbed my This Little Piggy stamp set and thought I would ink it up and just create whatever.  To get the creation gears rolling I decided to use the sketch challenge that the Global Design Project is hosting this week.  I have never joined one of their challenges, but I have checked them out every week--they are an amazing team and offer fabulous challenges.
Here is my interpretation of the sketch for #GCP106.

The background is two layers of Embossing Paste clouds.  The first layer was colored with Dapper Denim ink and the second was plain.  You have to let them totally dry before the second layer is applied, but the SU! paste dries so quick it doesn't take too long.

Cat Punch Bite

Use your Cat Punch to take a bite out of a Stitched Shapes "moon" to create a fun Halloween look.  To create an eerie moon sponge Crushed Curry ink around the edges of the cut circle.
To curve your Halloween greeting mold the image on a clean block to your desired shape.  This technique works best with photopolymer stamps.

Layered Leaves Leftovers

For me this Monday Montage Blog Hop it's all about Layered Leaves leftovers.  There are a few very fancy pieces remaining once you finish the eight pillow boxes and eight notecards from the September Layered Leaves Paper Pumpkin Kit.  They are far to pretty to set aside or worse, toss out.  You have to put them to use being fabulous in work of (he)art.  It's kind of like an encore for this showstoppin' kit to make one last homage to the gorgeous elements.  (There could be a second encore since I haven't used the two extra gold leaves)
To the kit I added Early Espresso and a scrap of Cherry Cobbler Card Stocks, Gold Glimmer Paper, Lovely Words Thinlits, the new Leaf Punch, and leftover Paper Pumpkin sequins.
I had fun laying out the extra leaves on a panel of Early Espresso to make a one of a kind background.  What I really love are the tags hanging from a twig I picked up from my front yard.  I had just enough twine left to run it through the tags and suspend it from the twig.  A couple blobs of hot glue on each end is what I used to attach the twig to the card.  Of course this isn't a put in the mail kind of card, but I think it would make a gorgeous addition to a gift.  Just tuck the corner under the bow and your package is totally glammed up.

Fall Color Mix with Spunk

I saw this color challenge over at SUO for "favorite fall colors."  This is a great chance to share my thoughts on colors for this season.  My thoughts are we need to mix it up!  Liven up the party!  Change it up from the common and add a splash of fun.
Spunk up the spice of Pumpkin Pie and Cajun Craze and add Sweet Sugarplum and Tranquil Tide for an autumn color palette perfect for 2017.
