Fancy Friday is Sale-a-Brating

Welcome to another Fancy Friday Blog Hop.  This month we are all sharing a Sale-A-Bration themed card or project.  I chose to show you my project using a card kit.  The Precious Parcel Card Kit is one of the free selections you can earn with a $50 purchase during Jan., Feb. and March.  I love all the vintage and delicate details that come in the kit.

I made my own pattern to make a "foldout photo folio" made of layered cardstock pieces.  To go with the kit I added in some Grey Granite and Whisper White cardstocks to make my foldout pages. I also included some embossing using the Lace Dynamic TIEF which I think fits the look and style of the card kit perfectly.

Here is a look at the folio tied shut with Powder Pink 3/8" Ruffled Ribbon.

When you untie the ribbon here is what you see.  I fussy cut one of each of the card kit inserts as focal/anchor points for the top and bottom flaps.  To the fussy cut pieces I added lots of leaves and berries cut from the Wonderful Floral Framelits.

I love how this striped airmail envelope from the under/bottom layer peeks through when the top flap is closed.  When the top flap is lifted you get to see another beautiful montage of florals and leaves.

To create a more polished look for all of the flaps I used the Gift Bag Punch Board to round and angle cut all of the corners.

This view is with both the top and bottom flaps open.  It's tricky to tell the colors of the bottom set of photo mat layers.  The main layer with the twine bow and pink leaves is actually Gold Foil.

View when opening the left panel.

View with both the left and the right panels open.

Each of the mail box panels do open (not shown) and have inserts embellished with paper clips, postage stamps, and Gold Glimmer flowers with Basic Pearl centers.

In total I used not quite half of the kit for my project.  With one kit you can make two folios and a few extra mail box cards with envelopes.

Be sure to catch my Facebook Live video with measurements and assembly instructions on Tuesday, January 29th at 1:00 p.m. PST.

Charlet Mallett is up next and she is surely going to spark your imagination with her unique and clever creations.  Let me end by saying "thanks for stopping by and Happy Sale-a-Bration!"

Monday Montage Meets Amazing Life

How about a little something made using the Amazing Life Stamp Set and Rectangle Stitched Framelits for today's Monday Montage Blog Hop?  My card for this hop features this fantastic bundle and the Botanical Butterfly DSP.

I started with a card base that is Thick Whisper White with a top fold.  All of my layers were cut using the Rectangle Stitched Framelits Dies except for the wide strip of black and white gingham.  The cool thing about the Botanical Butterfly DSP is that there are beautiful full color printed designs and the reverse side of each page is a black and white pattern.  There are polka dots, diagonal stripes, gingham, images to color, and a butterfly design.

My cardstock colors are Grapefruit Grove and Balmy Blue.  I did emboss the grapefruit layer with the Simple Stripes TIEF.  For the layer with the sentiment I sponged with Balmy Blue and Grapefruit Grove Ink for a bit of variation and subtle softness.  To finish, since it's a birthday card, I included White Tulle Ribbon, Gold Mini Sequin Trim, and a few loops of Gold Metallic Thread.  To me the pops of gold add such a festive and rich feel to the card.

If you have a chance to  create with this new bundle I hope you will share your projects.
Enjoy your stops along the hop.  Next up is Julie Warnick, or if you love to work backwards you will be meeting up with Dani.

#TGIIF195

Welcome to today's design challenge.  Over at #TGIF195 is all about Disney.  We get to make anything we want, it can go in any direction, we just need to have been inspired by something Disney.  I thought I would go simple and cut out the iconic Mickey ears using the Layering Circles Framelits and the Large Letters Framelits.

I started my Disney inspired card with a Lemon Lime Twist card base with a top fold.  Next I cut a piece of the Botanical Butterfly DSP wide enough to cover my entire card but not as tall.  I took that piece of black and white DSP to my Big Shot to cut "L, V, and E" being sure to leave a gap for the Mickey ears.  Next I used one of the smallest circles from the Layering Circles Dies to cut out Mickey's head.  To get the ears I had to get creative because none of the framelits were small enough.  So, I used the dot from the exclamation point in the Large Letters Framelits Dies.  In order to not cut the entire exclamation point and only what I needed I set my top plate only on the portion I needed.

The adorable greeting comes from the Sunny Days Stamp Set.  I stamped it with Basic Black Archival Ink and then added Lemon Lime Twist Ink with an Aquapainter in the bubbles of the letters.  I did the same thing with the fussy cut flowers, which also comes from the Sunny Days Set, I also added some quick swooshes of Real Red Ink.  To cut the greeting I used one of the Rectangle Stitched Framelits Dies.

Wonderful Romance

This gorgeous and rich color combination is being hosted by Hand Stamped Sentiments.  Be sure to see what the design team has crafted using these luscious colors; Petal Pink, Fresh Fig, and Mossy Meadow.  For me, I thought these colors would be perfect for the Floral Romance Suite in the Occasions Catalog.  I added lots of Whisper White and accents of Grapefruit Grove Foil.

To start I cut up a sheet of Thick Whisper White into quarters.  Two of them were cut using the lattice and leaf border piece from the Wonderful Floral Framelits.  Then I lined up both to fit a single quarter  sheet to form a gate fold.  Before I adhered each side of the gate folds to the quarter sheet I ran each through the Big Shot and the Lace Dynamic TIEF.  WOWZA, that folder is so beautiful.  My last step to form my card was a panel of Petal Pink Vellum from the Floral Romance Specialty DSP pack for the inside.

For the belly band I cut an 11" strip of Fresh Fig Cardstock 1/2' wide.  I tied a piece of Petal Pink Metallic Ribbon around the band and then had fun layering all kinds of pretties with the oval greeting.  Speaking of greeting, the "enjoy today" comes from the Climbing Orchid Stamp Set.

Amazing Life and the Crafty Carrot Collective

Are you wondering what the Crafty Carrot Collective is?  It's a team of four Stampin' Up! Artisan Award Winners; Cindy Schuster, Krista Frattin, Jennifer Frost, and Susan Wong who bring you an online program each month based around a few focus products.

For the month of February The Crafty Carrot Collective Blog Hop team of designers are all sharing hand crafted projects showcasing the Amazing Life Stamp Set and the Stitched Rectangle Shapes Framelits.

And guess what...I have the most awesome opportunity and honor to stamp along side this team of superstar stampers as a guest designer this month.

For both this hop and the Crafty Carrot Collective's February Online Program we will feature the Amazing Life Bundle along with the Botanical Butterfly DSP and the Organdy Ribbon Combo Pack. My card for this hop includes all those products to make a festive and spirited birthday card.  In February I will be sharing a tutorial and video for the Crafty Carrot Collective, you won't see it here on my blog, but you can see it if you join the program.

When I first saw the Amazing Life Stamp Set I was thrilled with all the images and variety of greetings, sizes, backgrounds, and textures.  I knew in a split second that the stamps were going to be powerhouse set.  Here's what's great about the set.  It's bundled with the Stitched Rectangle Framelits Dies.  These new dies are a "must have" for every paper crafter.

I started with a top fold Petal Pink card base.  I stamped the floral image with Grapefruit Grove Ink and then embossed the front of the card base with the Subtle TIEF.  I love that embossed touch.

The black and white prints in the Botanical Butterfly DSP pack are a blast to mix, match, cut, and layer.  I am loving how the Lemon Lime Twist and Grapefruit Grove cardstocks bring a bit of depth and interest to the things.  I did some quick and simple watercoloring on a few of the images using an Aquapainter.

Thanks for hopping by and I hope you have a fabulous day which includes a bit of stampin'.  Your next stop along the hop is with the incredible Cindy Schuster at Nutmeg Creations.

Monday Montage

It's our first Monday Montage post for 2019 and I am showing you a card made with new products. I've stamped with the Classic Garage Suite and put a little something together that is perfect for just one person -- Newel!  This is perfect for him and I plan to save it for Valentines Day.

The stamp set in this suite is called Geared Up Garage.  It matches perfectly with the Garage Gears Thinlits Dies and the Classic Garage 6" x 6" DSP.  I also used a bit of Silver Glimmer Paper, a Silver Foil Edged Card, Basic Rhinestones, and the Stitched Shapes Framelits.

The main car was stamped with Basic Black Archival Ink (retired but my go to black pad) and then painted with a Faux Milk Painting technique.  It's a cool technique where you paint a stamped image with watered down white ink and then restamp the image with more black ink.  For this one I added a bit of color on top of the dried white ink.

What have you stamped in this new year?  I hope you share it with all of us paper crafting enthusiasts.  Now it's your chance to see what Julie Warnick has been up to.  Or, if you work backwards like thumbing through a magazine you will be visiting Dani.  Enjoy!
