Trucking Along Bundle is Fantastic

Hopefully you have the Trucking Along Bundle. It's a stamp set and builder punch that combined have great design possibilities. I used the bundle along with the Nested Essentials Dies and one of the Basics Embossing Folders to create this "guy card" that I'm sharing for our latest Monday Montage Blog Hop.

My favorite part of this card design was making the background paper. First, I stamped the outline truck image with Pebbled Path Ink on a piece of Fresh as a Daisy DSP. Next, I ran the piece of DSP through the crosshatch pattern of the Basics Folders. Last, I lightly stamped the fill in truck image in each of the truck outlines. I really love how it just picked up the texture.

For the main truck image I stamped with Jet Black Staz On Ink and then did some quick watercolor with Boho Blue and Wild Wheat Inks. Once it was dry I punched it out with the Truck Builder Punch. While I still had my watercolor brush out I splattered both ink colors on my Nested Essentials die cut panel to give just a subtle bit of visual interest and color.

I opted for a larger greeting than what comes in the Trucking Along Stamp Set. I used the "classic authentic you" greeting from the Legendary Ride Stamp Set. I felt it was perfect for a guys b-day card.

#TGIF435 GLITTER!!!

Glitter, you either love it or you hate it! Me, I LOVE it!!

You can see from the icon below glitter is our newest challenge at #TGIF435. You can give it a play in any way you like. For me, I like the More Dazzling Specialty Paper.

I added the More Dazzling Specialty Paper to the "celebrate" and to the curtain tie backs. IRL it's SOOOOO pretty. I think these glitter details add such charm to my Zany Zoo dancing animals card.

Awesome Colors for Hand Stamped Sentiments

Our newest color challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments are awesome colors that perfectly usher in a slight change in season. We are not quite in the midst of autumn, but it's coming as I am seeing subtle changes here and there.

I inked up for the first time the Rustic Crate Stamp Set to create this color challenge card. I also used the matching Rustic Crate Dies along with the Timeless Arrangement Dies and the Stylish Shapes Dies. I did back the entire card front panel with a piece of Fresh as a Daisy DSP. That DSP has such versatile dry brushed solid color designs on the back of each page--they are great.

Happy Bir-day

My how the days pass so quickly! It's that time again for a Monday Montage Blog Hop. I am sharing my Happy Bir-day card that I made with the Bird's Eye View Stamp Set.

Since the background included a wild mix of stripes, a floral print, and a tone on tone leaf design I chose to keep the color for the focal birds. By leaving the stacks of book all white I think it adds a sense of calm and a place for the eye to rest.

For the birds I used Stampin' Blends to bring them to life with color. I used the colors from the DSP as my palette which included Bubble Bath, Copper Clay, Old Olive, and Lemon-Lime Twist.

I do enjoy adding a pop of interior decor to my cards. I had some leftover birds and a strip of DSP so I zhuzhed up the inside cover.

Thanks for hopping to my blog and for visiting with me. Next up in our hop is Emily or you can work backwards to Cheryl.

Artisan Post #12 - Little Dreamers

These oversized baby cards showcase a more fashion forward color palette. I took the traditional baby blue and pale pink colors to a fun mix of Bubble Bath, Petal Pink, Berry Burst, Pool Party, Coastal Cabana, and Basic Black.

Both cards measure 4 1/4" x 6". I find that extra vertical 1/2" of canvas allows for showcasing more hand stamped elements. For these cards I stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and then used a bunch of Stampin' Blends to bring the Little Dreamer images to life.

This card totally reminds me of Operation Dumbo Drop. I love how the black twine hugs the baby elephants big belly. To get the illusion of the of the twine wrapping around the body I cut a slice right along the ear to be able to slip the strands under so they appear to be going over the elephant's back.

#TGIF433 Bird's Eye View

I do believe one of the happiest stamp sets in the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog is Bird's Eye View. With that set and the sketch below I was able to whip up this bird card in a short time. Speaking of sketch this is our latest challenge over at #TGIF433.

I totally get a kick out of the background I stamped for this card. I used Coastal Cabana Ink to create a tone on tone look with the round glasses image. Cute? Yep! I used Pool Party, Lemon-Lime Twist, Bubble Bath, and Berry Burst Stampin' Blends to color the birds and books.

Summer Lemonade for Hand Stamped Sentiments

Is it summer lemonade or two eggs sunny side up? While I enjoy the cheerfulness of the yellow and white daisies I do think they look like part of a grand slam breakfast.

I created this fun fold style card with the inspiration board below. This inspo challenge is from Hand Stamped Sentiments. It's filled with citrussy sparkling vibes. As you can see I went with a green, aqua, and soft yellow palette to fit my summer lemonade thank you card.

For this card I used the So Refreshing Bundle. To punch it up a bit I also used the Around the Bend and Stylish Shapes Dies.

Here's another look at the clever cuts from the front of the card and what's hiding behind them.

August Creation Station Blog Hop

It's Creation Station Blog Hop time! This month our challenge is ombre blending. My ombre colors include Petal Pink, Moody Mauve, and Berry Burst. I created my blend of colors on Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper with a flat brush Water Painter and a stamp block.

I made two pieces of ombre paper; one for my background layer and the other for die cutting flowers and leaves. I used the Countryside Blossoms Embossing Folder for added texture and the Cheerful Daisies Bundle.

I did a bit of splattering with a couple Stampin' Blends. I flicked with Berry Burst and Polished Pink.

For the flower centers I used the berry color from the Festive Pearls.

There is more ombre inspiration just one click away. Next up is Mikaela at the Crafty oINK Pen. She always blows my mind with amazing craftiness.
