#TGIF165 Darling You're Fabulous

This week's challenge over at #TGIF165 is to have some fun interpreting an inspiration photo.

This challenge is all about summer and what is more fitting for the season than a lemonade stand?
Well if you will allow me I'll tell you what is more fitting.  For me it is a taco truck and if I'm really lucky it's one that serves pineapple agua fresca.

For my spin on the challenge I combined the TGIF inspiration photo and the above picture I saw online.  I was drawn to the minty-aqua and gold colors of the cups which sparked an idea I had to try.  For my card I made some colorful pineapples using the pinecone dies from the Pretty Pines Thinlits.  I combined my pinecone pineapples with the Stitched All Around Stamp Set and the Stitched Labels Framelits for a spunky, fun, and fresh look perfect for the summer days ahead.

My colors include Whisper White, Basic Black, Pineapple Punch, Flirty Flamingo, and Coastal Cabana.  I also added some great embellishments that are new in the catalog; I tied a bow of Pool Party and Silver Baker's Twine and dotted a few Metallic Pearls here and there.  The fancy black scalloped boarders are strips of the Pick a Pattern Washi Tape.  Cute don't you think?

Hand Stamped Sentiments Broadway Birthday

When it comes to card challenges I think I prefer sketch challenges over color or inspiration themes.  This one is no exception.  I especially like this one that we are hosting at Hand Stamped Sentiments because it's a bit quirky and designed by me.

I opened up the Broadway Birthday Suite to take on this challenge.  I thought the balloons would be a fun way to meet the drawn layout.  To me what is cool about challenges is if you follow them you put things together in new or unexpected ways.  You see I would normally put the balloons toward the top of a card because that's where they would go if they were filled with helium, but the circles on the layout are across the bottom, so I that's where I had to put them to meet the challenge.

Thank You Monday Montage

Hello and Happy Fathers Day to all of those celebrating this most very fabulous holiday!  For our Monday Montage Hop I whipped up this card with the supplies sitting left out on my table.  I had lots to choose from since my work surface was covered with all kinds of stuff aka a stampers whirlwind like mess.  Anyway my card is summery with colors and style and was made using the Thank You Thinlits and the Big Thank You Stamp Set.  So, to my dad and husband "thank you" for all you do as patriarchs of our family.

I first sponged some Granny Apple Green and Coastal Cabana on a panel of Whisper White.  I used the Sponge Roller in a rather random-messy way with no rhyme or reason.  Next I stamped the line image on the right lower half to create some interest.  To all that I added a Silver Foil cut Thank You and fussy cut leaves and flower.  The thank you is triple layered so I can give it some dimension without trying to add skinny pieces of Stampin' Dimensionals here and there.  This is just my go to method with die cut greetings.
I should share that the new Pool Party and Silver Twine is DIVNE!!  Definitely put some on your next order ;0)  The other must have to add to your order are the Basic Adhesive Sequins, they are yummy and come in an array of soft colors and even some iridescent.  The pattern paper is from the Tropical Escape 6" x 6" pack and the floral button comes in the Tropical Elements.
It has been my pleasure to have you stop by today.  Your next landing spot on the hop is with the MOST FABULOUS Kaitlyn Zumbach.  She is going to inspire you for sure.

Abstract Impressions Stampin' Up! Artisan Blog Hop

Greetings and welcome to the June Artisan Design Team Blog Hop.  This month we are showcasing the brilliant new Garden Impressions Suite.  I decided to make a handmade album with products from the suite to remember an evening full of laughs, memories, and a whole lot of love celebrating the retirement of my mentor.
Using the backing chipboard from a pack of glimmer paper I cut pieces to create my 6" x 9" album.  Each of the smaller pieces of chipboard are covered with the Garden Impressions DSP; the left page(s) measure 6" x 6" and the right side page(s) measure 3" x 6".  What you can't see is the larger 6" x 9" back piece which is covered with Melon Mambo and Calypso Coral Cardstocks.
Here is a look when you first open the mini album.
All of the DSP pages and hand cut stamped images have been toned down with Whisper White Craft Ink and a direct to paper technique.  While the ink was still wet I heat embossed with a mixture of Clear Embossing Powder and Dazzling Diamonds Glitter.  I embossed many of the Springtime Impressions die cuts as well.  I did it to give a bit more durability to the pieces since they overhang in many places through the album.
The Share What You Love Embellishment Kit and the Artisan Pearls worked in fabulously with the papers and stamps from the Garden Impressions Suite.  The next photo is the backside of the first right page.  I kept the right side pages free of photos and kept them for simple journaling and a place to just be creative with the products in the Suite.
This So Saffron layout is my favorite of the accent/decorative pages.  I used the floral die cut from the Springtime Impressions Thinlits to sponge a background first before adding all my embellishments.  I aligned the butterfly with another butterfly on the back side so that I could stitch through both and make it visually pretty.  (The opposite side of this page is the blue page, shown above, with the 5/5/18 detail.)
This last spread makes me smile.  It's so special to see this group all together again after more than 20 years.  I hand stamped each of our names using the smaller font in the Make a Difference stamp set.  At first I thought it was going to take a long time, but I was done in about 15 minutes.
It has be my pleasure to have you view my handmade memory album of an evening that was so sweet for me, my college class mates, and my amazing mentor.

You are now off to take a huge hop over the pond to visit Emma Goddard in the UK.  She always has such clever projects to share.
