Perfect Succulent Colors

It's color challenge time over at Hand Stamped Sentiments and these hues are perfect for succulents.  My first thought when I saw the cool tones of HSS#309 was to mix succulents and a sweet greeting for a a springy light hearted approach.

For this top fold Pool Party card I used several of the Rectangle Stitched Framelits.  I cut the three layers and I embossed a stitched frame around the inner layer of Pool Party.  Can you see it?  It's a subtle touch but looks so awesome in real life.

Are you wondering where the images come from?  They are from the Grown with Kindness Paper Pumpkin kit this month and these stamps are so TOTALLY cool.  To color the tea cup and succulent I grabbed some ink with an Aquapainter and did a simple and quick watercolor.

For both the full size card and notecard the die cut "friend" was cut using the Well Written Framelits. I do love adding die cut words to cards.  I'm not quite sure why I love this touch, but I know I like it.

I love this little 3" x 3" notecard.  It will make the sweetest little addition to a small gift.  In fact I bought a bag of See's California Brittle for my friend and I think I will give it to her today.  I plan to tie the notecard to a simple ribbon and have it visible.  It will be the focal decor to the packaging that way I will not need an envelope.

Fancy Friday is Featuring Favorites

For February's Fancy Friday Hop we are all featuring our favorite Occasions Catalog product.  For me this was a tricky one because I have so many favorites.  I will say I have been blown away by the awesome framelits offered in this catalog.  Each set is beautiful, intricate, and offers such versatility. One of the sets that I purchased and have loved is the Needlepoint Elements Framelits.

Like I mentioned the framelits are out of this world AWESOME!  There are pieces to cut stamped flowers and leaves, there's a label die, leaf dies, stitching dies, and a die that coordinates with the Pretty Label Punch from the Annual Catalog.  All that in one set of framelits combines to make an ultra cool super versatile pack.

For my Needle & Thread themed card I tried a less common fold for this card and I think I like it. Actually I know I like this fold.  For this card instead of the card base, which is Night of Navy, opening, the card front panel pulls down to reveal the inside.  This easy fold allows for some fun layering and unveils a little surprise interior decor.

My front opening panel is Whisper White and it's layered on top of a piece of Blueberry Bushel cut with one of the Rectangle Stitched Framelits.  I get a kick out of combining colors that are so similar they blend and even clash at the same time.

My ink colors include Night of Navy, Blueberry Bushel, Balmy Blue, and Pear Pizzazz.  A strip of Balmy Blue Gingham Gala DSP was the perfect touch to tie my palette of blues all together.

Next time you are thumbing through the Occasions Catalog take a close look at each of the framelit packs.   You too will see just how clever and brilliant the designers at Stampin' Up! are.

This is all from me for today, but wait there's more fanciness coming your way.  Next up, the most fabulous and adorable Susan Wong.  She is sure to spark your imagination.

Welcome one and all to our Monday Montage Blog Hop!  For this hop we get to share anything we have been stamping lately.  This vibrant card is happy and showcases a fabulous sentiment.
Speaking of "so happy to have you in my life" that phrase rings so true for all my stampin' friends near and far.

I pulled out some of the papers from the Share What You Love Specialty pack and cardstocks to match.  My card base is Rich Razzleberry, one of my layers is Old Olive, and the top layer is Whisper White.  My images are stamped with waterproof black ink and colored with an Aquapainter.  My inks include Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive, and Tranquil Tide.

Hand Stamped Wonderful Romance

It's sketch time over at Hand Stamped Sentiments.  My favorite type of challenges are sketches and so playing along with this one was my pleasure.  To start the sketch I thought the lattice and leaf piece from the Wonderful Floral Framelits would be a clever fit for the left side top to bottom narrow panel.  From there it made sense to pull out the matching stamp set to the framelits, Wonderful Romance and the rest of the sketch fell into place with ease.

My card base is Thick Whisper White and my next layer is a panel of Botanical Butterflies DSP.  I love the reverse sides of the butterfly printed papers as they are black and white patterns that work for  almost anything.

Monday Montage Meets Flowering Desert

It's so great to have you joining us for our Monday Montage Blog Hop.  Please help us give a sweet welcome to two new members of the team Cheryl Curtis and Charlet Mallett.

A great stamp set found in the Occasions Catalog is called Flowering Desert.  It's filled with images to create a huge variety of cactus and desert fauna.  This set is AWESOME!

Along with the Flowering Desert Stamp Set I used the Corrugated Dynamic TIEF.  My ink colors include:  Shaded Spruce, Call Me Clover, Granny Apple Green, Petal Pink, and Basic Black.  I added a bit of bling thanks to the Basic Rhinestones and a Black Baker's Twine bow tie.  The little Melon Mambo flower was punched using one of the Bitty Blooms Punches.

It has been my pleasure to have you stop by my blog today.  Next up is Julie Warnick or if you work backwards you will be visiting Cheryl Curtis.

Creation Station Sharing What We Love

Can you believe it's February?  It's time to stamp and create a little something special for all of those best friends and family to let them know we think about them often and love them to pieces.

For this month's Creation Station Blog Hop our theme is to "share what you love, make it sweet and sassy, yet keep it simple."  I hadn't inked up the Needle and Thread Stamp Set since I ordered it a month ago so, it was time to put the stamps and matching framelits to work.

I started with some simple stamping'.  Just inks, stamps, cardstock, and a bit of twine is all I included for my inspiration card.  I think it's sweet and simple.  It whipped up super quick and the colors are vibrant and inviting.

With the addition of my Big Shot and the Needlepoint Elements and Rectangle Stitched Framelits I stepped up my original design.

My last card is a super stepped up version of my original layout.  I layered in an extra piece of Blushing Bride Cardstock and added a few more popped up floral and foliage elements.

Up next in our hop is Creation Station team member Denita Wright-Smee.   You're going to love what she has to share--her stamp style is amazing.

#TGiF197

Oh wow I have an epic fail here!!!  I blew the color challenge for this week at #TGIF197.  I mean how hard is it to get a three color challenge wrong?  Well, I managed.  For some reason I had it in my mind that Lemon Lime Twist was part of this combo, but clearly it's not.

While I missed the Pineapple Punch entirely on this card, I do believe this is quite pretty.  I have added some of my favorites in the making of this card.  A touch of foil paper, Lovely Lipstick, to back the greeting and butterflies, splashes of Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, and touches of bling.

What might be tricky to figure out is my Coastal Cabana background.  It was quick and simple with the help of the "oil spill" image from the Geared Up Garage Stamp Set.  I randomly stamped the image with full strength ink and then some more after stamping off to get a lighter color.

I did use a few of my favorites to complete this card all of which you ca find in the Occasions Catalog.  Both the Well Written Thinlits and the Rectangle Stitched Framelits are included along with the Butterfly Duet Punch.
