"HeyGrl" A Loaded Valentine Envelope

HEYGRL it's time for a fifth Friday project challenge at #TGIF353.  This Friday's challenge is to create a loaded envelope.  These envelopes can be anything you want it to be from small and simple to big and bountiful.  I made a Valentine themed two-pocket loaded envelope.  I filled it with hand made paper wands, a cute tag to sign, along with fun candies, chocolates, and prizes.

Here's a full view of how I filled the pockets.  The front pocket is decorated with stamped images from the Driving By Stamp Set and die cut letters from the Playful Alphabet Dies.  I have to mention that in person the letters are super sparkly as they are cut from the new Mother of Pearl Paper!!  This paper is GOJUS!

This sweet "you've got style" is the tag I mentioned that I will write a special message on for my Valentine friend.  I continued to use the Sale-a-bration stamp set called Driving By.  I die cut a Tailor Made Tag, stamped it with Memento Black Ink, colored with Stampin' Blends, and heat embossed the greeting.

Here's a look at what I packed inside the pockets including the paper wands.  Two of them are accordion folded medallions made with Pattern Party DSP, Always in My Heart Stamp Set, and both the Layering Circles and Playful Alphabet Dies.

I found fun candies perfect for my loaded Valentine envelope from Target and the Dollar Tree.  While my envelope pockets have plackets to give some dimension I looked for fairly flat items to tuck into my gift.

Here's a link to my video tutorial for creating a loaded envelope and the photo below is a reference for the measurements I use.

"Driving By" for a Hand Stamped Sentiments Color Challenge

A mix of cheetah print and cute cars for this week's color challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments.  All these fun automobile images come from the Driving By Stamp Set.  A set that you can get for FREE.

Each of the cars were stamped with Memento Black Ink on Basic White Cardstock and then fussy cut out. I colored them in with Stampin' Blends and used the Color Lifter to add highlights to each.  For the black and white side stripes I cut strips from the Pattern Party DSP.

A Fancy Happy Birthday

This month Stampin' Fancy Friday is making birthday cards.  I chose to ink up the beautiful Flowing Flowers Stamp Set for this challenge.  Along with the beauty of the images in this stamp set I included the Pearlescent Specialty Paper.  GASP, have you seen this paper?  It is drop dead GORGEOUS!

So, this specialty paper is found in the Annual Stampin' Up! Catalog and I have no idea why it took me so long to try this.  IRL this paper is stunning.  Get some, it will take your hand made projects up twelve, thirteen, twenty notches.  It shimmers with power and grace.

My colors include Grey Granite, Petal Pink, Very Vanilla, and Pearlescent.  When you stamp on the Pearlescent Paper is does dry as well and stamps with a softness unlike our cardstocks.

I used a couple die sets to bring the details all together on this card.  For the Pearlescent leaves I used the Forever Flourishing Dies and the greeting is stamped on a Tasteful Labels Die.  All the stamped flowers and leaves were fussy cut with a trusty pair of paper snips.

Driving By to a Monday Montage Blog Hop

Have you got your hands on the Driving By Stamp Set yet?  It's so totally fabulous and fun; the line art images and greetings in this set are just my thing.  Here's a card I made the other day just for the thrill of sitting down and stampin'.

I colored the VW Bug image with  Stampin' Blends and then did some fussy cutting which I don't mind doing.  I cut several Stitched Rectangles to layer up my card in colors of Basic White, Basic Black, Mango Melody, and Pattern Party DSP.

Hey I want to say "thanks" for stopping by today.  Don't miss a stop along the hop.  Have fun popping over to Emily or backward to Cheryl.

#TGIF351 Sketch Challenge with Flowing Flowers

January's sketch challenge over at #TGIF351 is straight up cool.  The right justification of the series of rectangles is wide open to interpretation--you can do anything with it.  Pop over to TGIF and see what we have all come up with.  For my spin on this sketch I used the gorgeous Flowing Flowers Stamp Set.

I stamped my own piece of designer series paper.  I inked up the floral image with Flirty Flamingo and Gray Granite to pretty up a panel of Basic White Cardstock.  And, when I say "pretty up" this is so true.  The "distinktive" image is super beautiful and stamps such amazing dimension.

Tucked behind the stack of rectangles is a Gray Granite die cut which I cut from the Artistic Dies. Under the greeting I included a scallop border of Rose Gold Specialty Paper.  The black dot paper was a scrap on my table.  It comes from the Pattern Party pack of paper.  I splattered Wink of Stella, tied a Linen Thread bow, and added silver Metallic Pearls for a big finish.

I prefer top for vertical cards.  That seems to be what I gravitate to when I am making cards.  How about you?  What's your go to style?

Sketch Challenge In Symmetry

Take the latest stamp map from Hand Stamped Sentiments and challenge yourself to craft a card.  I made this "unique" card using the In Symmetry Stamp Set, the Pattern Party DSP, a few ink pads, and a pair of scissors.

A stack of fussy cut flowers is arranged in a vertical layout to mimic the stamp map.  I stamped with Polished Pink, Real Red, Bermuda Bay, and Coastal Cabana Ink Pads on Basic White.  Here's a look at the  dimension of the flowers and leaves.

I used a wrap of baker's twine tied in a bow under the greeting to replace the ribbon shown in the stamp map.  Some silver Metallic Pearls give a fun finish to my card.

"Lots of Pun" Paper Pumpkin

Hello stamp friends.  Come on in and hop with us today.  For this post I'm sharing two of my alternative projects using the spunky stamps and elements from the "Lots of Pun" Paper Pumpkin Kit.  What's so cool about this kit are the stamps.  I have NEVER had an image of a fried egg or a slice of toast or thought I needed one to add to my stamp stash, but I'm glad I have them.

I love the idea of this card.  Instead of folding the card in half to have the stripes on the front and the Pool Party color on the back of the card, I folded the card inward and added a score to fold half of the front outward to create a "Z" fold.  This way you get to see both the pattern and solid color.

I have to laugh that I added sunglasses to a piece of toast.  I did use a Dark Soft Suede Stampin' Blend to color in the sunglasses.

For this top fold vertical style card I covered the entire card front with a piece of DSE.  Yes, I said DSE which stands for Designer Series Envelope.  SU! includes some of the best lined envelopes in Paper Pumpkin kits that you have to cut apart and use--it's too fun.
