Holiday Inspiration #278

The Hand Stamped Sentiments Design Team has an inspiration challenge timed perfect for the Christmas holiday season.  I have pulled out one of my favorites for this challenge--In the City.
A while back I was in search of ideas to spark my creative juices.  I decided to search 70s Christmas greeting cards.  That search fit the bill for giving me some thoughts on what to create.  Then when I saw our inspiration challenge for this month at Hand Stamped Sentiments I knew I needed to finish that card idea that was spinning in my mind.
First, I cut a 4 1/4" x 8 1/2" Basic Grey card base to make a square card.  Next, I cut the night sky piece from the Card Front Builders Thinlits.  For the white specks I used an Aqua Painter and Whisper White Ink to splatter all over the card base.  Then the fun was creating my little winter scene.
I finished the card with Rhinestones and red and white twine (retired, but I luckily still have a little in my stash from last year).
Thank you for stopping by.  If you are in need of paper crafting supples just click on the hostess code below.  Happy Christmas crafting', Elizabeth

Onstage Ombre for Monday Montage

While at Onstage in Salt Lake I had the chance to participate in two organized swaps.  Both swaps had to be full cards using products from the Annual Catalog.  I gravitated to two of my most favorite stamps set and framelits for each swap, Beautiful Bouquet and Bike Ride.  For this hop I am sharing with you my Beautiful Bouquet swap which includes a gorgeous Dazzling Diamond Glimmer Paper background swathed in a glorious ombre of ink.
I shared an ombre card on Friday with the TGIF team which was the inspiration for this card.  The difference is I went much heavier handed with the ink for this card.  My colors are Powder Pink, Sweet Sugarplum, Berry Burst, and Fresh Fig.  This is a color combo that is totally me--I love it!
The greeting inside has a matching ombre of ink.  The paper layers inside are Vellum Card Stock and Shimmer White Card Stock.  The card base is Powder Pink with a top fold.
My bouquet was made with Vellum, Powder Pink, and Pink Pirouette Card Stocks and I also added in some inked up Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper with Gold Foil and Shimmer White.

#TGIF135 Ombre

Get you brayers, sponges, or watercolors ready because the #TGIF135 is all about creating "ombre" effects this week.
This card is GORGEOUS!!!  I want to make one for everyone because it's so dang sparkly and yummy.  Seriously, this color palette is SO me.  I want to wear it, roll in it, bask in it, decorate my house with it, and maybe even eat it.  I just love, Love, LOVE the colors for the ombre.  They are, first Powder Pink, second Sweet Sugarplum, next, Berry Burst, and last Fresh Fig.
The "lovely" was cut three times and layered on top of each other to create dimension.  I find this layering method for detailed pieces much cleaner than using Stampin' Dimensionals.  The heart portion is only one layer thick.  I love the blend of Gold Foil, Gold Mini Sequins, and Gold Metallic Thread, with the ombre of color.
Thanks for visiting today.  Now it's your turn to bust out your favorite colors and whip up an ombre effect for you newest stamped work of art.
