Watermelon, White, & Pacific Blue

It's been a while since we have hosted an inspiration challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments.  This week we are putting it out there to create a hand crafted project influenced by any or all of the photos in the challenge collage.  For me I went with all three colors being that Independence Day is less than a week away.  However, I didn't go with a true red.  Instead I gravitated toward Watermelon Wonder combined with Pacific Point and Silver Glimmer.

I put together a shaker mini-treat bag using the You're So Sweet stamp set.  I just love that Stampin' Up! has designed a new set that perfectly coordinates with the Mini Treat Bag Thinlets.  In between the circle layers are two pieces of Window Sheet to encase my shaking stars.  And to top it all off I have a loop of Watermelon Wonder Dotted Lace Trim tied up with twine.  Please enjoy, be inspired, and go stamp!  Happy 4th of July to all those here in the United States and Happy Day to all other stampin' friends around the world!

A Friendly Wish

Hello Hoppin' Friends!  Here is a clean card using the new set Friendly Wishes.  It's a fairly simple card which includes Mint Macaron with Calypso Coral and Crumb Cake.  It's a color combination that is refreshing and perfectly timed for sweltering triple digit weather.  Another star on this card is the use of the Triple Banner Punch.  That punch is "THE BEST!"  Seriously just cut your strips to 1", 1.5", or 2" wide and punch to make the easiest banners on the planet.

A Few Friendly Wishes

This sketch challenge hosted by Hand Stamped Sentiments is so so much fun.  It's one I will definitely repeat.  In my first order placed from the new Stampin' Up! Catalog I purchased some of the 5/8" Striped Cotton Ribbon in the Lost Lagoon color.  Let me just say this is a fabulous ribbon with great weight, feel, and style.  Withthe choice of the ribbon, it made total sense for this first time use to pair it with Lost Lagoon cardstock.

In my first order I also got the Elegant Dots TIEF.  This was a must have new item which was number two on my list of must haves.  (Number one was Thick Whisper White card stock).  Another two new items I used to create this card are the Friendly Wishes stamp set and the Lots of Labels Framelits.  To make the two color impression quick and easy to ink I first pressed the full stamp onto a Lost Lagoon Ink Pad then I used a Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker to ink up the shadow color.

So You Kit Put to Great Use!

Happy summer everyone and welcome to another Monday Montage Blog Hop!  The So You mini album kit from the Occasions Catalog was a huge hit.  It was so big it sold out.  I bought my kit early on and finished my book not too long ago.  I decided this would be the perfect time to share my album.
I didn't want to add too much to the already amazingly stocked kit, but I did include the Hello Life stamp set with a White Staz On ink pad and the Little Letters Framelits to add some titles and journaling to my mini book.  All of the stampin' and lettering was done on the clear window sheets that came with the kit.  Each was then inserted in the page protector over each corresponding photo.
I used the Little Letters to cut some titles for my pages.  Some are actually adhered to the front, yes I said front, of the page protector as I like that look of dimension and texture.  The photo above is an example of that.  The next two photos show my "take it to plan B" which turned out way better than plan A.
Plan "A" was to simply cut some clear letters out to add to my pages.   I had arranged my letters on the bottom of the window sheet to save space and when I ran it through my Big Shot, I knew it was thick so I ran it back and forth and back again, it didn't cut the letters out.  The window sheets were just way too thick to cut out with framelits, BUT it leaves a great impression for a fun look.  So I grabbed an alcohol marker (Coastal Cabana Blendability) and colored the back side for a super cool title to my page spread.
