It has been a while since I designed a card which incorporates the "Gallon Quart Ounce" rule, so with this warm color palette I decided to go for it. I added lots of the Basic Grey (gallon) with the Accent Lable cut from Twitterpated DSP, a little Real Red (quart) with the floral image from Raining Flowers, and just a teeny bit of Pumpkin Pie (ounce) with the button. I even used the rule for the greeting. I LOVE this new greeting set called From the Heart--it's a fabulous set that has a great throw back feel.

Beautiful!! I try to remember that rule when making cards but don't always. Love how you used the new die! And what a great way to finish it of with a button!!
ReplyDeleteI have never heard of this rule - gotta figure out how to change it to metric (Canadian) - won't flow so smoothly off the tongue though because all the word endings are the same. (Sorry that was the former Language Arts teacher in me -Gosh I'm glad it's the last day of school!)
ReplyDeleteAnyway - I love your card - that gallon of basic grey is wonderful with the label die! And I do like that teeny tiny bit of orange. Thanks for the inspiration!
I've never heard of this rule either, but I can see how useful it is! I love how you've combined all the colors and used one one of my favorite stamp sets!
ReplyDeleteYou made me giggle on the rule. Never heard of it either but it works. Love the simplicity of the stamped images against the gallon!
ReplyDeleteLove this card! The greeting really catches your as much as the flower! Love the layout too!
ReplyDeleteElizabeth, I love your card! I had heard the rule before, but with a different reference...it is helpful! I love this stamp set and am always looking for samples. I really like what you did here. Great working with you on Create!
