Welcome to A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop. For this hop we are giving you alternative ideas featuring the Welcome Inn Paper Pumpkin Kit from June.
I've made lots of projects using the versatile elements from the Welcome Inn Kit. Here I'm sharing two of them with you. One I call a "bag in a box." And the other is a fancy fold card that uses pieces from the kit and a bit of added cardstock. Both projects get a bit of help from the Countryside Corners Dies.
For the bag in a box here's what I did:
- To create the bottom of the box score all the way across at 1" from the bottom edge of the card.
- Add four short scorelines perpendicular to the first scoreline and from that scoreline to the bottom at 1/2", 3 3/4", 4 3/4", and 8".
- Clip on all the short scorelines to the long perpendicular scoreline to form the box bottom. DO NOT clip on the original scoreline/center of the card.
- Fold inward on all the scorelines and crisp up with a bone folder.
- Add Tear and Tape to all the short tabs and one of the long tabs.
- Add one small piece of Basic White cardstock that measures 1" x 5 1/2" scored lengthwise at a 1/2" to attach and close up the open side.
- Peel off Tear and Tape covers on short tabs.
- While squeezing the card open fold short tabs inward to sit flush against the sides. Eventually these will fold down.
- Fold the large tabs to form box bottom and adhere.
- Use a bone folder and reach inside the bag to push the short tabs to the bottom of the box. Burnish the adhesive.
This fancy fold card is made with a 5 1/2" x 10 1/4". It's scored along the long edge at 1 1/2", 3", 7 1/4", and 8 3/4". I used one of the Kit envelopes to add to the two front folds. For the textural dimension I used the Countryside Blossoms Embossing Folder.
Here's a look from the top to get a good view of the folds.
The blue layer on the inside "hospitality" layer is more of the envelope I cut apart. It was cut to fit perfectly with one of the Countryside Corners Dies. The Basic White middle/inside layer was also cut with the same dies. I must say that these dies are super awesome.
Thanks for hopping with us today. I hope you have found some inspiration that takes you straight to your stamp space. Go get some ink on your fingers, chop up some paper, and create to your heart's content!
