A Paper Pumpkin Thing "Sweeter With You"

Welcome to our A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop for July's Sweeter with You Kit. This strawberry themed kit is brightly charming, sweet, and deliciously playful. It's one of those kits that whatever you make it turns out fantastic.

For this gate fold card I started with a piece of Strawberry Slush Cardstock (that was a no brainer).

To the printed strawberry, scallop circle, and flowers from the Kit I added lots of die cuts. I used the new Circle of Season Dies and also the leaf die from last quarter's Hugs Abloom Dies.

I love the mix of "clashing reds" which include Strawberry Slush, Poppy Parade, Real Red, and Cherry Cobbler along with Granny Apple Green and Garden Green. This palette just pops with energy.

 

Here's a look at the finished inside.

This card is a riff on a "Z" fold and while it's mechanically simple the card oozes with visual texture. For the dry embossed layer I used the Glass and Gardens Embossing Folder on a panel of Pool Party Two-Tone Cardstock. A bit of sanding with a nail buffer to reveal the white inner core of the paper enhances the dry embossing and looks fab.

For a finishing touch of bling I included some gems I found in an old Paper Pumpkin Kit box. Lately I have been committed to completing Paper Pumpkin projects and using up all the pieces. With the Sweeter with You Kit I used every last piece and made ten cards and one scrapbook layout! I say use your stash!!
