Paper Pumpkin Alternatives 3

Welcome Monday Montage Blog Hoppin' friends.  For today's post I thought I would share my third set of cards using leftovers from June's Paper Pumpkin Kit.

My first card has a bit of a story behind it and it goes like this:  It all started with deciding to use the tissue paper from the Paper Pumpkin kit packaging as a background.  I squirt Liquid Glue on the front of a Thick Whisper White Cardstock base so I could adhere some crumpled tissue.  The plan seemed to work in my mind, but instead I had a sticky mess.  So, to fix the mess I crumpled more tissue on top of the wet sticky glue.  Then I had too much tissue and needed more glue.  I was battling an uphill fight.  Plan B was to soak up and take the sticky out by adding Dazzling Diamonds glitter.  That for sure solved the problem, however this card has a lot, I mean A LOT, of glitter.  For me to say that is huge because I think glitter is a color!

But the battle of the glue continued (you'd think I would have learned my lesson).  I wanted a foaming like seashore of sequins, so I squirt more glue, yes more glue (was I nuts?).  I sprinkled sequins on top of the glue and pressed them into place only to get more stuck to me that to the card.  So, more glue for more sequins ... more glitter to help dry up the glue ...

Since the sequins were out and in my reach I thought a shaker card would be fun.  This time no glitter would be allowed!  But alas in my twisted mind I couldn't stay away from a bit of shine.  I splattered the card front with Wink of Stella.

It was so nice to have you stop by and visit.  As the greeting says, "my day is better because of you."  You are now heading to check out what Melissa Stout has been working on in her craft room.

Fancy Friday Favorite New Item(s)

The 2019 Annual Stampin' Up! Catalog is now live!  Ordering from these 200+ pages of awesomeness has been possible since the beginning of June.  In my first new order I picked up several new stamps, papers, and accessories.  Our theme this month is to share our new favorites which seems like an easy task, but figuring out my favorite is hard because I love it all.

After looking back at my latest projects I noticed a very obvious favorite of mine and it's the new In Color Purple Posey.  I have every new thing in Purple Posey: the cardstock, ribbon, gems, blends, and pattern papers.  Even more specifically this Purple Posey pattern piece of paper from the Woven Threads DSP is my most favorite of all.

Another top pick for me is the pack of Detailed Bands Dies.  The intricacy of these dies is so deliciously gorgeous it almost boggles my mind.  If you get the dies it almost always makes sense to purchase the stamps, so of course I did.  The Band Together stamp set has seen lots of ink since the beginning of June.  I should also say that I bought a pack of the Noble Peacock Rhinestones and have used them all.  That's pretty crazy that in less than a month I have gone through 140 rhinestones.

Thank you for joining us in our New Favorites Fancy Friday Blog Hop.  I'm glad you stopped by. Now's then time to bounce on over to Lauren and find out her new favorite(s).  (I have a a guess for her so let's see if I'm right.)

Paper Pumpkin Alternatives 2

Are you lovin' this month's Paper Pumpkin Kit?  This kit was filled with loads of extra pieces.  Seriously there are tons of leftovers from which I made six more full size cards and I still have lots more bits leftover.  This post, which features two more full size cards, is part two of three Paper Pumpkin alternative posts showcasing June's kit.

Punch out all your leaves in the kit and you'll have these two pieces of paper ready for the trash.  Or, if you are a true paper crafter you will see the beauty in the remnants.  A bit of glue in all over and a little trimming and I had these two fabulous backgrounds, one in Old Olive and I flipped the other over for a crisp Whisper White.

#TGIF217 Ribbon Ruffles

#TGIF217 is hosting the cutest challenge this week!  Get your ribbon out, ruffle it up, and add it to your card or project.  I included a ruffle of both ribbon and cardstock.  Check it out.

On my Purple Posey card I have a ruffle of Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon and a die cut of more Purple Posey Cardstock.  The die comes from the Arts and Crafts Set and it a total showstopper.

Other card details include using the Free As A Bird Stamp Set, Stitched Shapes Dies, Woven Threads DSP, an Aquapainter, and Paper Snips to fussy cut the images.

#STTCChallenge A Wish For Everything

One of this week's sets for the Stampin' Through the Catalog Challenge is A Wish For Everything.  It's a new set which is paired with an AMAZING mix of dies.  I predict this bundle is going to take off and we'll be seeing it more and more as it fits many holidays through the year.

In the Pressed Petals pack of DSP there is this fabulous warm green sheet of music.  I spied this back when I first saw the new catalog back in April at Onstage.  Here's a cool detail about the design of this particular paper.  It's divided into three equal 4" strips.  That's so handy for making multiples.

I embossed the music paper with the Seasonal Wreath 3D Folder which I pre-inked with Mossy Meadow Ink.  This step gets you all the shadows, then to get the highlights I lightly rubbed a little Whisper White Ink on the raised areas.  Red Rhinestones and Braided Linen Trim were the perfect finishing details for the wreath.

The gorgeous banner is all about the Word Wishes Dies.  I cut the "merry" from Gold Foil and "Christmas" from Gold Glimmer Paper and adhered them to a banner of Mossy Meadow Cardstock.  To give the banner some life I broke down the fibers with a bone folder.  This gives that added softness and curl to the paper.  The greeting is heat embossed with Whisper White and the whole card is spritzed with Frost White Shimmer Paint mixed in rubbing alcohol.

Paper Pumpkin Alternatives

If you have a love and passion for beaches you will love this month's Paper Pumpkin Kit.  This kit was filled with bitty notecards to be made and handed out as random acts of kindness.  What a cool idea for the kit for stampers to spread kindness.  Another cool thing about the kit was the amount of extra pieces.  Seriously there are tons of leftovers from which I made six more full size cards and I still have lots more bits leftover.

These two cards are stamped with the Birch Background Stamp using Whisper White Ink.  The greetings, laser cut pieces, and twine are all from June's PP Kit.  I did use a Wink of Stella brush to add some glimmer to the trees.

HSS #317 Is Here for You, Friend

Welcome paper crafters to a new challenge brought to you by Hand Stamped Sentiments.  This challenge is a sketch style that offers layered rectangles which base a central focal point.  For my spin on this challenge I blended the sketch with a card from the new SU! Catalog that I wanted to case.

On page 75 of the Creativity is Calling catalog there is an "I love you" brown and blue card that caught my eye.  I was intrigued by the geometric doily layer behind the floral image.  The doily is a trimmed down die from the Beautiful Layers set of dies.  I new the angular lines of the doily type die from the Beautiful Layers set would mesh well with the patterns in the Mosaic Mood Specialty DSP.

Product List
Stamps:  Beautiful Promenade
Inks:  Cajun Craze, Mint Macaron, Pear Pizzazz, Crumb Cake, and Early Espresso
Papers:  Mint Macaron & Very Vanilla Cardstock, Mosaic Mood DSP, and Copper Foil
Tools:  Beautiful Layers Dies, Stampin' Sponge, Tailored Tag
Accessories:  Metallic Pearls, Nature's Poem Twine

Beautiful Laser Cut Card

Hello stampin' friends.  It's good to have you join us for our Monday Montage Blog Hop.  You may have just visited with Charlet Mallett or started the hop here.  Charlet has such a unique and artistic talent that always blows my mind.

One new item in the Catalog that caught my eye is the tin of Bird Ballad Laser Cut Cards and Envelopes.  Detailed with precision and beauty these cards can be crafted into something gorgeously special.  I decided to decorate this card with pieces cut from the Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper.  I arranged the blossoms among the birds, attached them with Mini Dimensionals, and painted them with Wink of Stella.  A few scattered sequins added just the sparkle I wanted and a bow of Linen Thread tied it all together.

Tucked behind the laser cut card front is a panel of Coastal Cabana Cardstock.  To give the cardstock more interest and appeal I did some random stamping all over with the background image from the You're A Classic Stamp Set.  I see the image as being an oil slick which is perfect for the theme of the classic car set.  This stamp is ultra versatile and can be utilized for lots of stamp projects.  I love how this bit of stamping adds a mottled effect.

As always I have to give a big thank you for stopping by and hopping along with our Monday Montage Blog Hop.  Your next stop is with the totally adorable Melissa Stout.  Let's go check out what the Stamp Doc has to share.

Getting My Feet Wet

With the release of the new catalog one suite I have had my eye on is Woven Threads.  The designer papers created for the suite are gorgeous.  The patterns are cool and vintage, but it's the color palette that has me hooked.

On page 12 of the new Catalog there is a Pretty Peacock colored "forever" card that caught my eye. So, I sat down and cased the catalog.  Casing samples is a perfect way to get to know new stamps and dies.  By recreating a couple cards I got my feet wet and thus my stamp mojo kicked into gear and now I have a huge passion for the Heirloom Frames Dies and 3D Embossing Folders.

Since I didn't have every supply used on the catalog sample, I replaced the flower with an image from the Band Together Stamp Set.  When I finished getting my flower ready it was huge, so I scaled my die cut word to fit the space left on the banner.

This card was also cased from the catalog.  Stampin' Up!'s version had a beautiful stamped and embossed background that I replaced with a panel of the Seaside Spray Woven Threads DSP.

It didn't take long but I figured out my favorite from the new catalog is the Purple Posy Cardstock. There are many other new items that are fabulous to me, however this color sings to my stampin' soul.

There are subtle details on this card.  The greeting is stamped with Pretty Peacock Ink on Vellum Cardstock.  The vellum is layered over a piece of DSP behind the Heirloom 3D Embossed Frame.

I have to share what I did for the background.  I stamped the largest image from the Woven Heirlooms Stamp Set with Whisper White Ink all down the card front.  Then I heat embossed the images with a mixture of Clear Embossing Powder and Dazzling Diamonds Glitter.

The First Frost floral images are stamped with Stampin' Write Markers on Shimmer White Cardstock.  Look close and you'll see some of the Purple Posy Scalloped Linen Ribbon tucked behind the bottom of the frame.  A few In Color Faceted Dots and Linen Thread are the finishing touches for this beautiful card.

For this card I combined two new bundles, the Woven Heirlooms and Band Together sets.  The card is based in a panel of Rococo Rose Woven Threads DSP and an Heirloom 3D Embossed Frame. Together they set the stage for the Band Together elements.

I used Gold Embossing Powder for the large floral stamp and watercolored with Rococo Rose, Terracotta Tile, Pear Pizzazz, and Mossy Meadow Inks.   The leaves, oval greeting, and detailed frame behind the greeting all come from the Detailed Bands Dies.  Check out this new bundle on page 121.  It's stunning and will be a showstopper!

Thanks for stopping by and viewing my new cards using new stamps, dies, and embossing folders.

#TGIF215 Colors I Love

Three colors I totally gravitate to are Pool Party, Night of Navy, and Granny Apple Green.  Together they are a POWER palette and are our colors for this week's challenge at #TGIF215.

I've made a couple one of a kind backgrounds for this card.  The first one I made by dripping refill inks down a piece of Shimmer White Cardstock with an Aquapainter.  This was fun to watch the drips run as I tipped the paper back and forth to move the ink.

My second background was made using the Arts and Crafts Dies.  In the die set there is a strip of buttons that can be used in some fun ways.  I cut seven button strips from Night of Navy Cardstock and adhered them to my Night of Navy card base.  Before I added my focal pieces I spritzed the tone on tone background with Frost White Paint mixed in rubbing alcohol.

It Starts with Art is a new stamp set that can be purchased as a bundle with the Arts and Crafts Dies.  Both stamps and dies are perfect for those of us who find joy being a part of the world of paper crafting.  I stamped the images with waterproof black ink so I could watercolor with the same inks used to make my striped background.

Stamps | It Starts with Art
Tools | Arts and Crafts Dies, Nesting Stitched Dies, Aquapaiter
Inks | Blueberry Bushel, Granny Apple Green, and Pool Party Ink Refills, Stazon Jet Black Ink
Accessories | White Baker's Twine, Frost White Shimmer Paint, Frosted Gems (retired)
