With the release of the new catalog one suite I have had my eye on is Woven Threads. The designer papers created for the suite are gorgeous. The patterns are cool and vintage, but it's the color palette that has me hooked.
On page 12 of the new Catalog there is a Pretty Peacock colored "forever" card that caught my eye. So, I sat down and cased the catalog. Casing samples is a perfect way to get to know new stamps and dies. By recreating a couple cards I got my feet wet and thus my stamp mojo kicked into gear and now I have a huge passion for the Heirloom Frames Dies and 3D Embossing Folders.
Since I didn't have every supply used on the catalog sample, I replaced the flower with an image from the Band Together Stamp Set. When I finished getting my flower ready it was huge, so I scaled my die cut word to fit the space left on the banner.
This card was also cased from the catalog. Stampin' Up!'s version had a beautiful stamped and embossed background that I replaced with a panel of the Seaside Spray Woven Threads DSP.
It didn't take long but I figured out my favorite from the new catalog is the Purple Posy Cardstock. There are many other new items that are fabulous to me, however this color sings to my stampin' soul.
There are subtle details on this card. The greeting is stamped with Pretty Peacock Ink on Vellum Cardstock. The vellum is layered over a piece of DSP behind the Heirloom 3D Embossed Frame.
I have to share what I did for the background. I stamped the largest image from the Woven Heirlooms Stamp Set with Whisper White Ink all down the card front. Then I heat embossed the images with a mixture of Clear Embossing Powder and Dazzling Diamonds Glitter.
The First Frost floral images are stamped with Stampin' Write Markers on Shimmer White Cardstock. Look close and you'll see some of the Purple Posy Scalloped Linen Ribbon tucked behind the bottom of the frame. A few In Color Faceted Dots and Linen Thread are the finishing touches for this beautiful card.
For this card I combined two new bundles, the Woven Heirlooms and Band Together sets. The card is based in a panel of Rococo Rose Woven Threads DSP and an Heirloom 3D Embossed Frame. Together they set the stage for the Band Together elements.
I used Gold Embossing Powder for the large floral stamp and watercolored with Rococo Rose, Terracotta Tile, Pear Pizzazz, and Mossy Meadow Inks. The leaves, oval greeting, and detailed frame behind the greeting all come from the Detailed Bands Dies. Check out this new bundle on page 121. It's stunning and will be a showstopper!
Thanks for stopping by and viewing my new cards using new stamps, dies, and embossing folders.
