Fancy Friday Paper Love

Welcome stamp friends to our Fancy Friday Blog Hop where this month our challenge is to feature Designer Series Papers!  There is something super exhilarating about opening a brand new pack of pattern papers and dreaming up all sorts of projects to create by hand.

For this challenge I grabbed one of my most favorite set of papers of all, the Share What You Love pack.  What makes this pack my favorite?  It's the rich and ethereal blends of colors, the pearlized details, the florals, the leaves, the text font, the cardstock weight, and the blend ability.

I had enough of a pack of the paper left to make a mini-album, another favorite of mine.  I started out with no plan at all.  I just cut and layered papers and tried things I wouldn't typically do.  At first I intended to use one of the larger standout floral prints for the book covers.  And then I switched it up and flipped the inside text print to the outsides to be the covers.  A choice that I ended up loving.

Another less obvious choice was the paper for the die cut butterfly.  I would normally select a bold solid or darker pattern paper to stand out from the background.  For this project I went opposite with my norm and chose a print with a slight variation, yet enough difference to add texture and a subtle accent to the rest of the cover's decor elements.

To make the paper flower I punched ten layers total of Vellum, Blushing Bride, and Powder Pink Cardstocks with the Daisy Punch.  The layers were curled with a bone folder, assembled, and then painted with Frost White Shimmer Paint.  The center is finished with one of the largest Gold Faceted Gems.

Today I'm showing a sneak peek of the inside of my mini-album.  To keep it simple and to create continuity the layouts for each page are the same.  To allow for lots of space for journaling, photos, and memorabilia the pages are constructed with full size pockets.  Check back later for a new post which will reveal all the inside pages.

Thank you for hopping along on our Fancy Friday Blog Hop.  You're moving along to Rochelle Blok's The Stamping Blok.  Her design work and photographs are always fantastic and sure to be a huge inspiration. Enjoy!
