Blended Seasons Stampin' Up! Artisan Blog Hop

Welcome paper crafters to our Blended Seasons Stampin' Up! Artisan Blog Hop.  If you started here you can hop through 16 beautiful stops that will inspire you, or if you arrived here from Constantly Stamping, Connie Collins' blog, didn't you love her clever spin on the floral image?

Stampin' Up! has a brand new bundle of products to purchase this month only!

The Color Your Season limited time products are off the charts amazing.  They are the best and most perfect for creating in any season of the year.  With these stamps, framelits, and watercolor pencils the crafting possibilities are endless.  The time is right now to "Color Your Season."

Starting August 1st customers can order these fabulous new "time limited" products through 8/31/18 while supplies last.  I have to add my excitement for the Stitched Seasons Framelits because the three label dies in the set are GLORIOUS!  And, the new colors in the Watercolor Pencils Assortment 2 are the PERFECT companion set to the first set.

For this first card of mine I used the Watercolor Pencils Assortment 2 to color my stamped background.  I colored super lightly with them and then blended them with an Aquapainter.  I think it looks rather textural and unique under the Delightfully Detailed Laser Cut Specialty Paper.

Tips for card 1:
  • Color with the pencils lightly being careful to NOT indent the paper.  This helps to quickly and smoothly blend the color with an Aquapainter or paintbrush and water.
  • Stamp with Gray Granite and don't worry about it bleeding a bit as it adds to the softness.
  • To color the flowers start with a light coverage of color and add levels of color to create darker areas.  Try getting color directly from the tip of the pencil with an Aquapainter for the darkest details.

Tips for card 2:
  • Inlay the Very Vanilla label into the Flirty Flamingo layer.
  • Carefully die cut the same label shape with the Delightfully Detailed Laser Cut  Specialty DSP.  Use Fine Tip Glue to adhere the laser paper to the label.  Don't worry about having to put adhesive all over the back of the laser paper, just a few tiny drops here and there is plenty to anchor the piece down.
  • Add an extra piece of the long strip of laser cut paper under the greeting layer for an extra special detail.
  • Stamp images with Gray Granite, watercolor, and allow the gray ink to softly bleed.

Are you ready to be blown away by the extreme creative expression of Emma Goddard?  She's up next in the hop and I am sure you will love her post.  Enjoy and happy stampin'!
