Unique Folds for Creation Station

Being that today is the first Sunday of the month it's time for a Creation Station Blog Hop.  This month we welcome a new member to our team; the stamp-fabulous Martin Stone from Martin's Mayhem!!  For June's hop our topic is all about unique folds.  We can interpret the theme any way we wish so I went old school with a riff on gum wrapper folding.

Do you remember folding gum wrappers?  As a kid I would sit in church and each week ask for my mom for a stick of gum.  I'de pop the gum in my mouth and then fold and refold the foil and the wrapper into a variety of mini dumb things.  Today I have used the Garden Impressions Designer Series Paper cut into strips to whip up a folded gum wrapper style wreath.

To create a paper wreath:

• Cut (36) 1.5" x 6" strips of DSP
• Score each strip lengthwise at 3/8", 3/4, and 1 1/8"
• Fold inward on the scorelines and use a bone folder to make the folds crisp and smooth.
• Fold the each folded piece in half then fold the ends inward to the center fold line.
• Link the strips to create a chain.  (14) for the inner ring and (22) for the outer.
• Connect the last link into the first.

I have showcased my wreath in a 10" x 10" shadowbox frame.  The wreath is adhered on a mat of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper covered with a layer of Delightfully Detailed Laser Cut Paper. In person this sparkling background is crisp and fresh and it perfectly sets the "stage" for my textural and colorful folded wreath.
