Creation Station is monu"MEN"tal

Hello and welcome to our May Creation Station Blog Hop.  This month's theme is monumMENtal! We are designing anything we want for the men, young and old, in our lives.  With that fun topic in mind I grabbed my "go to" man stamps and dies -- Geared Up Garage.

This suite of classic car motifs and embellishments is SO perfect for the men in my life.  Between my house, my Son's house, and two properties in Idaho we have many cars.  So many, I have no clue as to the total.  The guys buy and sell cars and along with restoring Datsun roadsters and vintage VWs.

These cards are a case from the amazing Charlet Mallett.  Her die cutting technique and fold is brilliant.  Like her I used the largest gear die from the Garage Gears Set to make the main cut. Simply lay your top plate on only right half of the die when cutting.  Once you have your partial cut you fold the cardstock back on itself.  Want to learn more?  The Crafty Carrot Collective offers great ideas and tutorials.

Each of my cards is the same, but not the same.  I used papers from the Classic Garage Pack, silver foil, and Black Rhinestones (retired) on each card.  On the more plain pattern paper I included some washi tape to back the inside greeting.

I love how the inside layout combines with the intricate card front.  There is a bit of the inside decor peeking through.

Thanks for visiting my blog today and all of our Creation Station posts.  Our plan was to spark your creativity for crafting for the men in your life.  Next up in the hop is a fun and fabulous Kathy Kartak.  Enjoy all that she has to share today and each stop along the hop.
