Goin' Vintage for the Fancy Card Swap Hop

Welcome to my blog!  Today several of us are featuring our cards we traded at our Fancy Card Swap which was held at the Stampin' Up! Convention a few weeks ago.  I know for a fact that if you hopped here from Carrie Gaskin's Artistic Avenger Blog you were delighted to see her Fancy Card Swap.

For my Fancy Card Swap card I wanted to stamp with my favorite brand new stamp set called Established Elegance and back it up with a great new background stamp called Hello, Doily.  It may not look like it but there were lots of steps to complete my card.  One that I will share is how I dyed the Whisper White Organza Ribbon.

I dyed an entire bolt of Whisper White Orangza Ribbon to be a lucious Wisteria Wonder purple hue.  To do this I added quite a few drops of Wisteria Wonder Classic Ink Refill to about 1 1/2 cups hot, hot water and 1 tablespoon vinegar.  Next, I fully saturated all the ribbon in hot water.  Then I placed the wet ribbon into ink, hot water, and vinegar mix.  I let it sit for several minutes before I rinsed it and hung it out to dry.

I had some fun adding Basic Pearls, an Antique Brad, ink splatters, and a tiny punched Wisteria Wonder flower.

Before I send you off to the next blog on our hop I want to share an totally sweet card that was swapped by Kathy Wheat.

Kathy calls it her  "Sparkling Strawberry" card. The minute I saw her swap I was totally intrigued.  The strawberry is so yummy looking.  Thanks Kathy for sharing such an awesome idea.

Now have some fun and continue on to our hop and click over to see Marlene Caravello's swap card at
