#TGIF475 Happily Ever After

A perfect set of stamps and dies for our latest #TGIF475 challenge is the Lifetime of Love Bundle.

#TGIF474 Friendships

I do believe that friendships make our hearts bloom with joy, happiness, peace, and love. I made this card with stamps and dies from the Filled with Fun Bundle and the retired Masterfully Made DSP. I think it finished beautifully and will be perfect for giving to a friend. Not only that, it's a fit for our latest challenge at #TGIF474.

Artisan Post #9: Adventurous Sky

The Artisan Design Team all had an extra assignment for the month of May. We were each to create two cards or small projects and one memory keeping project. I'm in Group Three and we were asked to design with the Take to the Sky Suite Collection. I made a Father's Day accordion fold up card and a masculine slimline card. For the memory keeping half of the assignment I made mini-album.

Here is an open and closed view of the mini-album. You can see the mini-album folded up and tied shut in the bottom left corner.

My husband and I made a visit to the War Hawk Museum in Nampa Idaho with our two grandsons. We explored tons and tons of memorabilia, uniforms, photos, airplanes, helicopters, and testimonies of 20th century wars. Our younger grandson was most impressed with the orange cones to keep visitors out of certain areas. His name is Archer and he's one and a half. Finn, our older grandson, was fascinated with the airplanes.

Party on a Card!

This is my attempt to create a party on a card! My inspiration was the closing dance party scene from the original Footloose movie. I do love how it turned out. I also enjoy the colors. I wouldn't normally put these colors together for a party, however I was inspired by the Masterfully Made DSP which was recently retired. I used a piece of the DSP behind the white "party" layer to bring lots more color and movement to the card.

These party themed images come from the Filled with Fun Bundle. You can find these stamps and dies in the Online Exclusives. This unique color combo I mentioned above includes Pretty Peacock, Lost Lagoon, Berry Burst, and Lemon Lime Twist.

Thanks for checking out my party on a card card in our Monday Montage Blog Hop. Next up today is Emily over at Emkcreations.

TGIF473 Backgrounds!

The #TGIF473 challenge is all about backgrounds. I did an emboss resist technique combined with watercolor smooshing. You know what heat embossing is and that's what I did first. I stamped a piece of Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper with the Drizzling Droplets background image with Whisper White Ink. Then I heat embossed the entire image with White Embossing Powder. Once the entire piece cooled off after the heat embossing and moved on the to smooshing.

To smoosh I pressed Pretty in Pink, Peach Pie, and Flirty Flamingo onto my Glass Mat. Then I spritzed the inks with water, enough to really move the inks. I tipped the Glass Mat to blend the inks together and then I laid my embossed piece face down into all the ink. I pressed the paper and smooshed things around. Once the paper was dry I buffed the embossed area to brighten up the white droplet images.

The floral and leaf dies and images come from the Lifetime of Love Bundle. The rectangles were die cut with the Everyday Details Dies. For the floral images I colored with Peach Pie, Flirty Flamingo, and Lemon Lime Twist Stampin' Blends.

Here's a look at the simple stampin' on the inside of the card. To give the stamped images a bit more color I splattered with Stampin' Blends using my Bone Folder to knock on the barrels. I kept the splatters to the left edge as I wanted to concentrate all the color around the leaves.

A "Case" for Stampin' Fancy Friday

Our theme for this month at Stampin' Fancy Friday is to "case" another team member. To case means to copy and share everything or copy and selectively edit or more simply put, to be inspired by someones work and create a new project.

I have been following Kayla Renee for quite some time and I love her stamp style, her photography, her color selections, her fancy folds, and her attention to layered details. I thought I would case a beautiful card she made featuring a vibrant palette of reds and berry tones.

A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop: Delicate Wings

April's Delicate Wings Paper Pumpkin Kit was fantastic! I LOVED the addition of the champagne foil details, the new core color Basic Beige, the coordination of the Thanks and Beyond Dies, and all the gorgeous card bases, dies cuts, stamps, and detailed labels. For sure this was a great kit. I made lots of alternatives, that I call up!styling, and I'm sharing a couple of them in this hop.

For this first card I used the open butterfly die from the Thanks and Beyond to die cut the two printed butterflies from the Kit. For the third butterfly I stamped and heat embossed on Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper then "smoosh" painted it. To "smoosh" I pounced Lost Lagoon and Moody Mauve ink pads directly on my Glass Mat. Then I spritzed the ink with water. Once the inks blended I smooshed the embossed butterfly in the puddle of ink. It's definitely a cool technique.

An easy bit of snipping and rearranging of the Kit's pieces I created this belly banded gate fold card. I did add a few non kit items. I used Lost Lagoon Cardstock, Pecan Pie Cardstock, Pretty Peacock and Gold Ribbon, and Pecan Pie Bordered Ribbon. This card is a stunner in real life.

I cut apart one of the Kit's envelopes for the inside panel of the card. It's the perfect finishing layer.

Monday Montage: Nature's Sweetness Suite

I have totally enjoyed creating hand-stamped cards using the Nature's Sweetness Suite Collection. That full suite of products was shared in the January-April Mini Catalog. One bundle from the collection has been carried over in the new Annual Catalog which was just released a few days ago.

I had some fun layering shapes to set the stage for the focal elements of my card. The large almond leaves image was die cut from the Nature's Sweetness DSP. I colored it with Pool Party, Soft Sea Foam, and Petal Pink Stampin' Blends. I really like the simplicity of the knot tied in the center of the Faux Leather Trim.

While the stamps and ink pads were out I added a bit of imagery to the inside of my card. My ink colors are Wild Wheat and Petal Pink.

Thanks for hopping with us today. There is more to see. Click on over to Emily's blog and see what she has been creating.

Creation Station is "Up in the Air"

Every first Sunday of the month the Creation Station Design Team gets together to share some hand stamped projects. This month our theme is "Up in the Sky." With this theme we were given the freedom to make whatever we wanted so long as it featured something that is found in the sky. You can see I went with airplanes. I used the brand new Adventurous Sky Bundle to make a birthday card perfect for any of the men in my life. Newel's birthday is this month, maybe this will be for him ;0)

For this airplane card I used the following Stampin' Up! products
  • Adventurous Sky Bundle, stamp and dies
  • Metal Plate 3D Embossing Folder
  • Classic Stampin' Pads: Basic Gray, Balmy Blue
  • Memento Tuxedo Black Ink Pad
  • Stampin' Blends: Pecan Pie, Wild Wheat, Gray Granite, Pebbled Path
  • Water Painter
  • Cardstocks: Basic Gray, Basic White, Pecan Pie, Smoky Slate
  • Small Blending Brush

I've enjoyed you stopping by today for our Creation Station Blog Hop. Next up in our hop is one amazing stamper. Click on over to Teri West at Alaska Stamper and give her a visit.

TGIF471 Layers of Beauty

How about a color challenge to motivate your paper crafting for today? Our latest challenge at #TGIF471 is a mix of Daffodil Delight, Flirty Flamingo, and Lost Lagoon. I made my card in about 15 minutes. That's right 15 minutes. It's all because of the amazing new hybrid bundle called Layers of Beauty.
