Cheerful Daisies Bundle for Monday Montage

Gingham prints and daisies are like peanut butter and jelly. They go together perfectly! I've had fun mixing the fully saturated Blueberry Bushel Glorious Gingham DSP with the Cheerful Daisies Bundle.

This fun fold card features a five layer 3D die cut and stamped flower. Give a scroll down to see the fun fold and get the full impact of this card.

I am totally loving the Blueberry Bushel mixed with Lemon Lolly and Lemon-Lime Twist. It's playful and packs a summer punch of fun.

I did add a couple greetings from the Charming Sentiments Stamp Set. I also included some of the Tinsel Gems Four Pack to add that touch of bling to finish my card.

Thanks for spending a few moments here at my blog. Enjoy the rest of the hop!

#TGIF431 Sunny Days

It's theme challenge time for us over at #TGIF431. The theme is "sunny days" and you can take that idea and make whatever you want. I decided to whip up a fun card using supplies and stamps from the Fun in the Sun Paper Pumpkin Kit.

First, I stamped my Basic White card base with images from the Fun in the Sun PP Kit with Lemon Lolly Ink. Then I arranged and added the beach themed die cuts from the Kit to my base. I did use Pool Party Stampin' Blends to color the chair. It came white but I wanted to punch it up a bit. My favorite touch is the  crab holding the sunglasses.

Up!STYLE Your Paper Pumpkin: Fun in the Sun

LONG POST ALERT!! Mostly pictures as they tell a thousand words.

These three projects were created for Stampin' Up! and their Paper Pumpkin Alternatives Video. Each project features the Fun in the Sun Kit for July.

Project 1 Kit Only - A Mini Messages Pocket. The only items used for this project came from the Kit.

I cut the top flap off an envelop, folded the bottom portion of the envelope in half, centered & wrapped the top flap around, and then decorated it with elements from the Kit.

Inside the envelope pocket are two "mini messages." My idea is that you could use one of the mini messages and save the second for a small treat. It also fits a gift card. So, you can mix or match and have some fun giving summer goodies.

Project 2 A Stepped Up Project - An 8 1/2" x 3 1/2" Slim-line Card. This card includes the Kit, Crumb Cake Cardstock, Basic White Cardstock, Tuxedo Black Ink, the Sailboat Builder Punch, Linen Thread, and Sheer Ribbon Combo Pack/Azure Afternoon.

I cut a 7" x 8 1/2" piece of Crumb Cake Cardstock and scored along the short edge at 3 1/2" to make the card base on which to arrange all the Kit pieces. I did add Stampin' Dimensionals to pop up the surfboards, crab, sunglasses, and sails.

The right inside half is covered with a  3 1/2" x 8 1/2" piece of Basic White. I used a Blending Brush to add a "haze" of Daffodil Delight Ink. The greetings were stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.

Project 3. Mini Album - 3D Project. This album includes: the Kit, Crumb Cake, Basic White, Lemon Lolly, & Azure Afternoon Cardstock, Azure Afternoon Ink, Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker, Delightfully Eclectic DSP, Adhesive Backed Sequins Trio, and Sheer Ribbon Combo Pack/Azure Afternoon.

If you would like to make this album I have a video tutorial uploaded on my YouTube Channel. Here's a link:

A Diagonal Sketch Challenge

I just received the Trucking Along Stamp Set and coordinating Builder Punch. It came just in time for me to whip up a new card for our latest challenge over at Hand Stamped Sentiments. In the graphic below you can see the challenge is a sketch--a diagonal layout!

My color palette includes Pecan Pie, Granny Apple Green, Tahitian Tide, Crushed Curry, and Basic Black.  The upper right corner of the card is a piece of Glorious Gingham in the Pecan Pie. The lower left corner is a piece of Pecan Pie Cardstock which I embossed with one of the Basics Folders. I stamped the truck with waterproof ink on Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper and then had some fun doing some simple watercoloring. To finish I added a double loop bow of Linen Thread and Tinsel Gems in the Lemon-Lime Twist color.

Translucent Florals for a CASE

This month's theme for Stampin' Fancy Friday is to CASE a fellow design team member. What does it mean to CASE? It mean to "copy and share" or in other words to mimic the layout or the colors or the theme. For my case I chose a floral card of the beautiful Angela Meiritz-Reid. I have always admired her clean and fancy design style.

Here's a picture of Angela's card that I cased. You'll definitely see the ideas that I was inspired by on her card. I flipped the layout upside down, I went with stripes, I included some dry embossing, and I have a trio of 3D flowers.

Just My Type

One of the spunkiest stamp sets in the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog is Just My Type. It's a mix of solid and open line images along with several greetings in a classic typewriter font. I thought it would be fun to share my cheerful Just My Type card for our Monday Montage Blog Hop.

I started this card with a piece of DSP from the Delightfully Eclectic pack. To me the steno-graph paper made sense to combine with the typewriter image. I used a die from the Gorgeously Made set to add the spiral torn edge, another touch that fit the theme, mood, and style of my card.

Let's talk colors. I wanted something easy and breezy. Something that matched a hot summer day. So, I went with Bubble Bath for my card base, a layer of Garden Green, and a layer of Daffodil Delight. I stamped with Calypso Coral and Garden Green. This was and is not a typical color palette for me, but I just let this project evolve and this card is what happened. It was an organic stamp session!

There is more to see in our hop. Click next to head over to Emily's blog or back to visit with Dani.

Happy Stampin', Elizabeth

Artisan Post #11 - Zany Zoo Crew

For July my Artisan assignment was the fabulous Zany Zoo Suite Collection. What a treat it was to make projects featuring the stamps, dies, papers and ribbon from this Collection. As you can see from the photo above I created three cards. One to feature the performing theme of the paper, another to focus on the hobby themes, and the last is a party theme.

My favorite thing for this card is the rounded edge that mimics a stage front. It's simple and effective. I also love the blended tutus. I used Petal Pink Stampin' Blends to color them and added small Basic Rhinestones to the flower centers. In person the card is adorable.

For the knitting sheep card my aim was to create a cool background that would be both interesting and not upstaging. I wanted the chair and table to be front and center.

On my white layer I die cut the flowers in a few spots and then adhered them to give the illusion of being dry embossed. Once I glued this layer on the black and white print from the Zoo Crew DSP I was thrilled with how the negative die cuts "popped." Then once the I added the Lemon Lolly die cut flowers I thought the background was complete, cool, and not so typical.

The Zany Zoo Dies includes this fabulous stitched banner piece. I used the die to cut banners and arrange them to give a party feel.
