#TGIF409 Layered Shapes

For #TGIF409 we are layering shapes. I grabbed my most used set of shape dies, Stylish Shapes, to create a geometric shaped layered background for some punched flowers.

Paper Scraps Mash Up

This card, created for a color challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments, includes paper scraps from my desk. I had a piece of Awash in Beauty DSP and a small piece of Brights 6" x 6" DSP that were a perfect mash up for our color challenge.

For the focal flowers I used the Petal Park Builder Punch and the Bough Punch. I layered and scrunched each flower then mounted them on a Basic White large circle cut from the Stylish Shapes Dies. Isn't the greeting fun? The "what's new?" image comes from the Charming Sentiments Bundle. And, the shimmering embellishments are from the Pastel Adhesive Backed Sequins.

A Dandy Owl Party for Monday Montage

I've made a cute card that I thought I would share for today's Monday Montage Blog Hop. This card features a trio of owls having a birthday party. What makes this card fun and spunky is the mix of patterned paper layered behind the stamped and watercolored owls. There are two pieces of the Dandy Designs DSP. One as a rectangular layer and the second is a giant tag.

Here's a closer look at the Adorable Owls. I did a quick bit of watercoloring to bring these owls to life. First I stamped with waterproof black ink and then I painted with Smoky Slate, Balmy Blue, Coastal Cabana, and Mango Melody. I added Mango Melody flowers that I stamped using the Cup of Tea Stamp Set to add spots of contrasting color. To finish, I added Pastel Backed Adhesive Sequins, ribbon, and twine.

Artisan Post #2: Around the Bend

Here it is. My second Artisan Design Team post for the year. Our group was given the great assignment to create two projects featuring the Around the Bend Bundle. I had my eye on this Bundle when I first saw the Jan-April Mini Catalog and was thrilled to get to create with it.

I combined the Bundle with the Like an Animal Specialty DSP, Fine Glimmer Paper, and some of my very own hand-painted paper. Along with the Bundle I used several pieces from the Stylish Shapes Dies. Speaking of dies, my opinion is that the dies are the star of the Around the Bend Bundle.

#TGIF407 Like An Animal

It's sketch time at #TGIF407. I grabbed the pack of Like An Animal Specialty DSP to match the sketch. Then I added scraps from my stamp desk to zhuzh it up a bit.

Along with the Basic Grey and Silver Foil colors I have used Rose Gold, Petal Pink, and Blushing Bride. The flowers were punched with the Petal Park Punch and the centers are the pinkish purple Milky Dots. The other dies include Organic Beauty, Cottage Flowers, and Stylish Shapes. The greeting comes from the Sentimental Park Stamp Set. So, you see this is really a "card salad." I used up scraps from my desk!

Taco Fiesta es Totalmente Fabuloso!

Yes, I am blown away by the totally fabulous Taco Fiesta Stamp Set. I love tacos and could eat them everyday. In fact I could have a breakfast taco, lunch taco, snack taco, and a dinner taco in just one day. And then I could top it off with a choco taco for dessert!

I grabbed the stamp set to make a fun "party on a card" project all while being guided by the sketch challenge from Stampin' Fancy Friday.

I found the perfect paper for the Taco Fiesta Stamp Set and that was the Flowers and More DSP. The colors are bright and vivacious. And the flowers are fitting for sure. I also used a bit of In Color Glimmer Paper to balance the sparkle with the spice.

A Valentine for a Hand Stamped Sentiments Sketch

Try this sketch from Hand Stamped Sentiments. It's a straight forward map to your next hand stamped card. I made a Valentine with this sketch in mind. I inked up the Country Bouquet Stamp Set and cut up a piece of the Country Floral Lane DSP to bring it all together.

I enjoy creating with the "distinctive" style stamps. They offer such cool visual texture and interest, but you have to know how to properly ink them for the best results. What I do is I ink the images as you normally would. Next, I pat the inked image with a Blending Brush to offload some of the ink and then I stamp. Sometimes I add a second color to the stamp with a Blending Brush for a cool two tone effect.

Around the Bend Bundle is AWESOME

Hello Monday Montage Blog Hoppers. For today's hop I am sharing an Around the Bend card. This new Bundle is so awesome. The dies are the star of the show.

The DSP in this card comes from the Flowers and More pack. I think it sets the stage for the spray of leaves and flowers. Scroll down to see how the back side of the DSP livens up the inside of the card.

All of the flowers are Tahitian Tide Glimmer Paper. The leaves are cut from a piece of hand painted paper.

Here's a view of the card fully open.

Next up in our hop is Emily. Or, click on the back button to go to Dani's blog.

Creation Station is Simple and Sweet

Happy February and welcome to our Creation Station Blog Hop. This month's theme is "Simple and Sweet." With that theme we could craft anything we could dream up. We just needed to be inspired by the idea of "simple and sweet."

My idea was to create a fuss-free layer-free breezy style card and then a second card to match that would be just a bit more embellished with sweet punched and/or die cut details. To bring my ideas to fruition I pulled out the Petal Park and Sentimental Park Bundles. I decided I would go classic and stamp on Basic White. My ink colors include Soft Seafoam and Calypso Coral.

For this first simple card I used the Petal Park Stamp Set and the matching Petal Park Builder Punch. I had just a bit of Calypso Coral Baker's Twine leftover from a Paper Pumpkin Kit.  Just enough for a shoestring bow for each card.

For this second card I added a die cut to layer behind three hand-punched and scrunched flowers. The ornate label die cut is from the Sentimental Park Dies.

Here's a close up of the Petal Park Builder Punch flowers. Each is finished with a large Iridescent Rhinestone.

I'm so happy you have visited with me today. Continue along with our Creation Station Blog Hop to get your fill of "stampinpiration." Next up is the lovely Barb Pfeffer Be sure to see what "Simple and Sweet" surprise she has for you.
