#TGIF391 is About a Bit of Inspiration

This week's challenge at #TGIF393 is totally open to interpretation. It could be that you make a Halloween night black cat type of project or watercolor mix with some silhouette images or whatever strikes your fancy. I chose to watercolor with Rich Razzleberry and Gorgeous Grape Ink Pads to create a background for a spunky white embossed greeting and several die cuts.

Boughs of Holly

It's really hard for me to pin down my favorites. I can't say I have a favorite movie or song or food because it's just too hard to pin anything down. There are soooooooo many amazing things in this world.

What I can say is that holly is my most favorite winter leaf. I know that's a bit bizarre, but I do love variegated holly and red pepper berries for Christmas decor. With that said, I was totally drawn to the beauty of the Boughs of Holly Suite in the July-December Catalog.

I also have a favorite holiday color palette for 2022. I am super loving mixing Evening Evergreen with Blushing Bride and gold. So, I have created a couple cards using stamps and colors I love and can call them my favorites, for at least this season.

For both of these cards I have used the following Stampin' Up! products:
  • Leaves of Holly Stamp Set
  • Holly Berry and Stitched Rectangles Dies
  • Boughs of Holly DSP
  • Glimmer 12 x 12 Specialty Paper
  • Evening Evergreen, Shaded Spruce, Soft Succulent, Basic White, Blushing Bride, and Real Red Cardstocks
  • Simply Elegant Trim
  • Gold Embossing Powder
  • Adhesive Backed Seasonal Sequins
  • Wintry 3D Embossing Folders
  • Evening Evergreen, Versamark, Blushing Bride, and Whisper White Inks
  • Water Painter
  • Wink of Stella

Fall Inspiration Challenge

Take a look at the inspiration board below and dream up a little something to hand stamp. Orange hues are probably the number one color for fall and that's great. This time thought I didn't want to use any orange or coral as I wanted to pop the greens and yellow colors. For this Hand Stamped Sentiments inspiration challenge I am sharing a wreath style card featuring the Ringed with Nature Bundle.

I traced a circle with a  pencil and used that line as my guide to stamp a variety of images from the Ringed with Nature Stamp Set. My ink colors include: Soft Seafoam, Pear Pizzazz, Crushed Curry, Old Olive, and Evening Evergreen.

I used the Tree Rings Hybrid Dies for the sliced log and for the greeting I used the Stitched Rectangle Dies. I used my Paper Snips to fussy cut the two berry and leaf images that hug the greeting. The tied bow under the greeting is a single strand that I pulled out of a piece of Silver Threaded Twine. A trio of white sequins were from the Adhesive Backed Sequins pack.

A Bit of Fall Packaging for Monday Montage

Welcome to SeeingINKspots, my blog that's all about paper crafting with Stampin' Up! products. Today I am hopping with several of my fellow Stampin' Up! Demonstrators to share a project I recently created.

One stamp set and matching pack of dies that I enjoy working with lately in Fond of Autumn Stamp Set and the Autumn Bouquet Dies. The possibilities are HUGE with this bundle. I love stampin' and then coloring the images with an array of Stampin' Blends. When using blends you can get such cool life like fall leaf tones.

You can see I decorated one of the Kraft Gift Boxes with the Fond of Autumn stamps and a couple other awesome products. First I wrapped some of the Rustic Harvest DSP around the middle of the box to create a belly band. Then I added both Evening Evergreen Windowpane Ribbon and Linen Thread. I cut a large Mossy Meadow circle using the Stylish Shapes Dies. This gave me an element where I could stage my focal stamped pieces.

It may be tricky to see, but I did add some stencil work to the box. To do that I used a Blending Brush and Crushed Curry Ink. Speaking of Crushed Curry, I cut two of the banner shapes from the Autumn Bouquet Dies to add color and to help show off the loops of Linen Thread.

A Paper Pumpkin Thing: Spooky Treats

Welcome to A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop. Today we are showcasing the Spooky Treats Kit from September. This kit is adorably fantastic and the stamps are super charming.

I combined elements from the Spooky Treats Kit with a few other non kit items from the Annual and Mini Catalogs. I have decorated one of the Stars Treat Bag from the July-Dec Mini Catalog. These bags are super sturdy and perfect for Halloween.

I used Blending Brushes to add Orchid Oasis, Fresh Freesia, and Crushed Curry ink to the front of the bag.  Next, I splattered Whisper White Ink and Wink of Stella all over for added depth and interest. I tied a big loopy Metallic Mesh bow around the entire bag which gave me something to attach a fancy tag.

All the stamps came from the Spooky Treats Kit. For the ghosts I inked up with Orchid Oasis and then colored the eyes and cheeks with a Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker. I fussy cut the ghosts and then attached them to a pipe cleaner to make them look like they are floating in mid air. For the circle and banners I used the Stylish Shapes Dies. The largest circle is cut from one of the plaid pieces from the Kit. One banner is a print from the Celebrate Everything Host DSP, and the sparkly blue is from the 6"x6" In Color Glimmer Paper pack.

Yesterday I did a Facebook Live class where I made several more projects featuring this kit. If you would like to check it out here's a link. https://www.facebook.com/seeinginkspots/videos/1444863489325506

#TGIF389 Halloween Colors

These three colors just scream to be whipped up into a Halloween creation. For #TGIF389 I made a funky Halloween card which I cased from myself.

I have used two stamp sets to create this "spookilicious" card. I grabbed Hand-Penned Petals along with the matching dies and the Spooky Treats Paper Pumpkin stamp set. First the greeting is stamped twice side-by-side. However take a close look and you'll see I did something tricky. The image on the right was stamped three times in order to rearrange words to read "treat or trick." I also did another trick for the die cutting of that greeting. I stretched the die to properly fit the greeting. To do that you have to run the die through the Stampin' Cut Emboss Machine twice.

Now, for the flowers I stamped with Black Memento on Basic White and then lightly dabbed Pumpkin Pie ink with a Sponge Dauber all over. The Basic Black flowers were rubbed with a bit of Whisper White ink and then painted with Wink of Stella. To make the card extra Halloweeny I stretched cobwebs over the entire card.

A Striking Palette

I put these three colors, Pool Party, Starry Sky, and Pumpkin Pie together for our latest color challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments. I enjoy grouping bold vivid colors. These three do fit the fall theme without being too obvious.

I started off with a printed Tea Boutique Card base in Starry Sky. To that I added a Basic White Stitched Rectangle layer on which I arranged all my stamp pieces. Speaking of pieces they are stamped with the Fond of Autumn Stamp Set with Starry Sky Ink on Basic White Cardstock. I colored with Pale Papaya, Pumpkin Pie, Pool Party, and Misty Moonlight (retired) Stampin' Blends.

To finish it all up I added a rather large Starry Sky Metallic Ribbon bow and several Adhesive-Backed Sequins and Gems. These gems are in the July-Dec. Catalog and the teal blue color was a great fit for this card and color challenge.
