#TGIF305 Sweet Ice Cream

This week's #TGIF305 challenge is ice cream inspired.  A perfect new bundle for this themed challenge  in the January-June Catalog is Sweet Ice Cream.

Look how totally tasty and tall this triple scooped cone is on the front of this delectable card.  As a kid I aways liked the ultra sweet flavors like tutti-frutti, lemon sorbet, and grape ice.  When we would stop by Baskin Robbins I ordered grape ice most of the time.  Now, I would take a hard pass on that and would go for praline pecan--yum.

I collected a few tools to accompany the ice cream cone.  First I embossed a piece of Playing with Patterns DSP with the new Painted Texture 3D EF.  That reminded me of making custom flavored ice cream on cold stone marble.  Then I added the Stitched With Whimsy detail for a touch more sweetness.

I heat embossed the "happy" with White Powder on Calypso Coral Cardstock and then fussy cut it out.  Both the greeting images come from the Pretty Perennials Stamp Set.

Bouquet of Hope: A Paper Pumpkin Thing

It's the most wonderful time of the month--it's time for A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop!!  This month's kit is titled Bouquet of Hope and it's jam packed with tons of elements to create nine cards designed with grace and style.

I've used lots of kit pieces to make this alternative, Up!STYLED, card along with a half sheet of Merry Merlot Cardstock, a scrap of Mossy Meadow Cardstock, and the Banner Builder Punch.  To start I cut the Merry Merlot to 4 1/4" x 11" and scored along the long side at 2 1/5" and 8" to create a gate fold.  To secure the gate fold I made a "slide and lock" or as I like to call it a "friction buckle."

In the set of stamps there is a gorgeous bouquet image that is top notch as a stand alone focal piece or it also makes a quick and beautiful background.  I stamped the image several times in Merry Merlot Ink and then spritzed the entire card base with Frost White Shimmer Paint mixed in rubbing alcohol.

For the buckle I cut 2 3/4" off of one of the cards from the kit and then cut it along the scoreline. The back of the buckle, which you can't see, is the solid side of the card.  The two pieces, which measure 2 3/4" x 4 1/4", are held together with two pieces of folded DSP.  You could use any DSP that you might have on hand, but I cut up one of the envelopes for the two inner pieces.

If you haven't ever made a "slide and lock/friction buckle" join me next week for a Facebook Live Class filled with lots of Up!STYLED projects featuring this month's kit.  Just go to Seeinginkspots on FB at 10:00 a.m. PDT.  Can't make the class, then catch the replay.

Here's a closer look at the buckle.  Also, if you want to add a layer like I did with the Mossy Meadow arrow, be sure to adhere it right behind the front layer of the buckle and then add the inner folder pieces of DSP.

Don't miss out on any of the alternative Bouquet of Hope Paper Pumpkin projects.  Just keep clicking through each of the hoppers!

Simply Succulents for Hand Stamped Sentiments

Succulents and cactus are some of my most favorite plants.  Where I live the grow so easily and look lush and fabulous.  For this new Hand Stamped Sentiments #358 inspiration challenge I used the Simply Succulents Stamp Set and the Potted Succulents Dies.

I love the crisp look of the green tones against the brick embossed Whisper White background.  My colors include Pear Pizzazz, Just Jade, Mint Macaron, Cinnamon Cider, and Basic Black.  To balance the bold black greeting image I added a few Basic Rhinestones which I colored with a Basic Black Stampin' Blend.

Monday Montage #184

Hello fellow stampers and blog hoppers.  It's great to have you here with us at our Monday Montage Blog Hop.  This week I am sharing a sweet matchbox perfect for gift packaging or wrapping small treats.

Setting the stage for this adorable box is the Flower and Field Designer Series Paper.  I combined two patterns from the pack.  One to add some color to the box top and the second to make a belly band.  The other star of the show for this project is the Sweet Strawberry Bundle.  A fabulous builder style punch matches the Sweet Strawberry Stamp Set perfectly.  With the quick squeeze of the punch you can create tons of mouth watering strawberries.  These two strawberries are stamped on Rococo Rose Cardstock with both Rococo Rose and Basic Black Ink.

There are some subtle and not so subtle accessories included to complete the look.  The black and white baker's twine from the Playful Pets Ribbon Combo ties it all together.  I've also added three white resin hearts and a silver heart charm.

Bright and Bold Pretty Perennials

All this month the Stampin' Fancy Friday Team has been sharing projects featuring products from the January-June Mini Catalog.  My card showcases both the Pretty Perennials Bundle and the You Are Amazing Card Kit.

I am a huge fan of bright bold colors and fun floral images. The You Are Amazing Project Kit is jam packed with fantastic card bases, layers, labels, tags, and twine that fit my passion for vibrant tones and patterns. And, some of the best new floral images are in the Pretty Perennials Stamp Set. What makes this stamp set so great are the coordinating Perennial Petals Dies.

I stamped all the floral and foliage bits on Whisper White Cardstock with inks to match the card base: Pumpkin Pie, Flirty Flamingo, Pretty Peacock, and Granny Apple Green,   The vellum tag and bakers twine both came from the You Are Amazing Card Kit.  The large sequins are from the Artisty Blooms pack.  By the way, that pack of sequins is SUPER versatile.  I use them all the time.

I did fussy cut the "happy" but thaks to the Perennial Petals Dies all the other pieces were a breeze to cut.  I framed the "you make me" with one of the Stitched Rectangle Dies.

#TGIF303 Miss You Donkey

For this cutie patootie donkey card I simplified the latest sketch from #TGIF303.  When I say simplified what I mean is I interpreted the layers in stamped and embossed images rather than pieces of paper and visually heavy die cuts.

For the bottom layer I used the largest of the Stitched With Whimsy Dies.  These new dies add just what they say, a fun boarder of "whimsical stitching lines."  Layer number two is stamped with the thought bubble from the You Are Amazing Set in Bermuda Bay Ink (stamped off).

Last, for the smaller label layer  I included a fussy Darling Donkey colored with Stampin' Blends and a Magenta Madness die cut greeting.  The "miss you" comes from the Well Written Dies.  I should add that my Well Written Dies are well loved and well used.

Spunky Colors for Hand Stamped Sentiments

These three colors, Real Red/Blushing Bride/Bermuda Bay, definitely have some spunk when grouped together.  Blushing Bride and Bermuda Bay are "go to" colors for me and I go through lots of cardstock in both, so I was happy to see these come up for our latest challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments.

To add to the spunk I included the Camouflage background stamp and the Darling Donkeys.  It's not that I am big into donkeys, however these three burros are right up my ally.

Monday Montage: Meet Finn

Look at this CUTE boy!  Let me introduce you to Finn, my first grand baby.  His full name is Finnley Tadashi Price and I love him so much.  His baby face is incredibly adorable so it had to be the star of my shutter card featured here in today's Monday Montage Blog Hop.

For this interactive style hand stamped beauty I inked up my Sweet Strawberry Stamp Set, chopped up a piece of Flower and Field DSP, and for a quick and easy cut of the strawberries I used the Strawberry Builder Punch.  If you're gonna get the stamps don't miss out on the punch because it's awesome!

Did you see the hearts on the strawberries made to look like seeds?  I love that touch.  When you get the pack of hearts in the January June Catalog you get both white and red.

Now the best thing is the surprise inside this card.  Wait for it...

Wait for it...

The shutters open to reveal the CUTEST baby EVER.

A "love" greeting cut from the Love You Always Rococo Rose Foil and another red heart complete the inside to say just what's in my mushy grandma heart.

I am happy you joined us for our 183rd installment of Monday Montage!  Your next stop is with the fantabulastic Melissa Stout.  She has some super amazing stampin' skills so get ready for the Stamp Doc.  Or, if you are like me and read a magazine or catalog from back to front your going to back click to Cheryl Curtis stamper extraordinaire.

Cute Critters for Creation Station Blog Hop

Happy stampin' everybody!  It's the first Sunday of the month so that means it's time for a Creation Station Blog Hop.  This month's theme is CUTE CRITTERS!  How adorable is that?  There are lots of options in Stampin' Up!'s catalogs.  I found this smiling snail in January's Sending Hearts Paper Pumpkin Kit.

A bit of Flower and Field DSP to add a splash of spunky color is just what these snails needed.  I've used the same paper pack for both cards.  There are such fabulous prints to choose from and you can get them for FREE.  That makes them extra special.

For both cards I also used the Well Written Dies and some of the Love You Always Foil Sheets.

Keep on clicking along our hop for more "cute critter" inspiration.  The Artful Inker, the lovely Sara Levin, is up next.  She has a some awesome stamped goodies to share with you.
