Halloween at Hand Stamped Sentiments

It's Halloween at Hand Stamped Sentiments for the next two weeks.  You can see from the style board above you can take this spirited holiday challenge in lots of thematic directions.  Go with a spooky cemetery, jack-o-lanterns, a pumpkin patch, a haunted house, or even a murder of crows.

I opted for a chilly night of trick-or-treating to a haunted spider web filled house complete with a scary black cat.  For my candy filled pouch I used one extra large and one medium Celebration Labels Dies glued to an extra strip of cardstock.  The photos below show that strip and the construction.

To start the stamping off I used the Birch background stamp on the extra large label.  All the other images that I used were from the Celebration Tidings Stamp Set.  My colors include Whisper White, Basic Black, Rich Razzleberry, Bumblebee, Pumpkin Pie, and Basic Grey.  A couple other die sets I used were the Nesting Labels and Word Wishes.

Monday Montage "Always Grateful"

Textures, plaid, pumpkins, and fall tones fill this thank you card.  Specifically, the pattern paper is called Plaid Tidings and the cardstock colors include Pretty Peacock, Cajun Craze, Cinnamon Cider, Bumblebee, and Whisper White.  For the curvy stitched label I used the Celebration Labels Dies which I stamped with the Celebration Tidings stamps.

Lookin' at More Hello Pumpkin Alternatives

To a stacked easel card I arranged elements from the Hello Pumpkin Kit to make a fun layered Halloween card.  A few added Iridescent Pearls made for a festive finishing touch.

For this accordion folded medallion I used three of the crackers.  Each cracker was score down the center of each section and then I cut the cracker in half.  After folding back and forth on the scorelines and stapled the sections together.

The center is based on a couple Layering Circles die cuts which are backed with a ruffling of Metallic Mesh Ribbon.  My curled banner is a piece of Whisper White which I watercolored with Cajun Craze Ink.  While it was wet I molded the curvy banner shape.  The Black Glimmer "Happy Halloween" was cut with the Word Wishes Dies.

This card is filled with sponging, stamping, masking, blending, and arranging of a collection of the pieces from the Hello Pumpkin Kit.  I included strips of Plaid Tidings DSP, Whisper White, and Cinnamon Cider  Cardstocks.

#TGIF283 Ink Blending

Now this is a fun challenge.  We are ink blending over at #TGIF283.  Blend with sponges, blending markers, brushes, or water painters to make one-of-a-kind papers and details for your stamp projects.

I blended Real Red and Just Jade Inks for my spin on this technique challenge.  I chose to use watercolor paper and a wet paintbrush to blend the two inks.

First, I painted a piece of watercolor paper with plain water.  Next, on a large clear block I stamped directly into both the red and green ink pads.  I added water to both colors to really move the ink but only blending the two very little in the middle of the block.  Last, I stamped the blended-painted block on the wet watercolor paper.  I let the water do all the work make my fun and spunky background paper.

I did grab three die sets to pull this Christmas card together:  the Rectangle Stitched Dies, the Joy Dies, and the Sounds of the Season Dies.  The block style stamped images are from the Peace and Joy Stamp Set.  And there is some subtle sparkle included on the card.  The narrowest "bright" layer is Red Foil, there are iridescent Adhesive Snowflakes, and Frost White Shimmer Paint misted all over.

Hello Pumpkin, A Paper Pumpkin Thing

Oh it's so fun to have you here for a short visit.  I do believe you will enjoy our A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop showcasing the Hello Pumpkin September Kit.

I have created a bundle of goodie packages and cards using elements from this month's kit.  

This fist bag style box used two of the crackers and two 2 1/2" circles.  With a couple easy cuts this goodie bag forms with ease.

Step 1.  Cut two of the crackers as shown in photo #1 and two 2 1/2" circles from Whisper White or Pumpkin Pie Cardstock.

Step 2.  Adhere the two crackers together as shown in photo #2.

Step 3.  Bring one end around and adhere it to form a tube.  Fold all the tabs inward.

Step 4.  Tuck one circle inside the tube.  Adhere the tabs to the circle.  Adhere the second circle to cover the tabs.

Step 5.  Alternate the folds of the top to form a star.

Step 6.  Tie the folds with twine to secure the bag box folds.

This cracker is double the size.  It's so simple to make.  Take two crackers and glue them end to end. Form them as you would a single sized cracker.  Since it's tricky to completely close the ends I used a 2" circle to keep the candy in the cracker.

I made several cards with pieces from the kit so I thought I'd give you a peek.  For a couple I used one of the crackers as a stencil to sponge in a diamond pattern.

For an added bit of embellishment I tucked a piece of the cracker I had cut off from another project along the right edge.  I used a Cajun Craze Stampin' Blend to custom color Basic Rhinestones that emphasize the scallops.

Two Stamp Sets for Stampin' Fancy Friday

September's Stampin' Fancy Friday Challenge is to combine two stamp sets on one project.  So, I knew for sure I could take that challenge on.  

The great thing about a jam packed greeting stamp set is that it pairs easily with tons of imagery filled stamp sets.  I combined the Ornate Thanks with the All Things Fabulous Stamp Sets for the "two stamp" challenge.  I doubled down on this challenge and used a two-step stamp set to create a palette of fall floral, berry, and foliage elements rich with color and subtle with detail.

To showcase all the stamped flowers I grabbed an Early Espresso piece of cardstock for my base and a second Early Espresso embossed layer.  For the texture I used the Dainty Diamonds 3D Folder.  I enjoy the mix of the angular shapes of the folder with the Whisper White Stitched Nesting Die layer.

Let's talk about the colors of the flowers.  Most are stamped with two and three generations of stamping off.  I used Cinnamon Cider, Terracotta Tile, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, Early Espresso on Whisper White Cardstock.  For the greeting I stamped on a strip of Terracotta Tile with Early Espresso.  To give the greeting a touch of distressed texture I pulled it back and forth over my bone folder several times.

Make Way for a Beautiful Autumn

For this card I began with a piece of Watercolor Paper which I painted with lots of plain water.  While wet I stamped the leaves in the challenge colors and watched the inks wick and spread into the water.  Once the paper was completely air dried I stamped the matching detailed images to finish the background.

 

Nothing's Better Than Monday Montage

Welcome to another Monday Montage Blog Hop.  I am happy you are here at Seeinginkspots to see some stamp projects.  These two card designs feature the Nothing's Better Than Stamp Set and matching Dies.

To start, I gave myself a "pumpkin spice" theme to spark my stampin' mojo.  I flipped through the Plaid Tidings 6" x 6" DSP to find colors that fit my theme  From there I grabbed ink pads to match the papers:  Pumpkin Pie, Cinnamon Cider, Bumblebee, Poppy Parade, and Early Espresso.

For the coffee mug swirled watercolor look I used a tiny ramekin painted with water to stamp the rings.  I love how they look like a mug left a ring on the table.  Because of the retro style of this stamp set I designed this coffee card to look like a diner menu.

There is lots of sponging and splattering to base the Thick Whisper White Cardstock base.  Then I used the small sparkle image in the set to add a hint more of color to the background.  I will say that tiny little stamp is adorable.

For this slim line layout I definitely must have been craving a candy bar.  By the way, Twix is my favorite.

The highlight of this card is the embossed "chocolate" squares.  To get that look you need a Silicone Mat and your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine.  The trick is to put your die cut upside down when you run it through your machine.
