#TGIF275 U R My Sunshine

Join us at #TGIF275 for an inspiration challenge filled with sunflowers, checks, and plaid.  What's your style?  What do these images inspire you to create?

For this card I used the Playful Aphabet Dies to cut "you are my sunshine" in a Whisper White panel of cardstock.  Before I cut the letters I embossed the piece with the ew Dainty Diamonds Embossing Folder.  I embossed first because when I have done it the other way around the delicate narrow cut details between letters rip when you emboss after.  Next, I mounted the white on a panel of Flowers for Every Season DSP and a Cinnamon Cider card base.  The little Crushed Curry Flowers were cut using the In the Tropics Dies.  Each is embellished with an Artistry Bloom Sequin.

Summer Nights Paper Pumpkin Up!STYLE

Let's get today's projects rolling with this matted window frame style card.  To cut the mats I used the Stitched Rectangle Dies.  What's fun is I used the cut out from the printed front layer to add on the inside of the card.  It's rotated 180 degrees for a pop of added interest.

The preprinted lanterns from the kit are stamped with images also from the kit.  One of the coolest stamps in the set is the teeny tiny "light" image that fits in the tails of the lightning bugs.  I call it the nugget stamp.  Not only because of the shape but when I figured out what it was for it was like striking gold!

Bagalopes!  Do you remember these?  They are so simple and the supply list is minimal.  All you need is an envelope and a trimmer/scorer.  For this bagalope score the bottom and two sides at 1". Fold on the scorelines to form a bag, push in a little on the sides, and fold the top flap over and you're done.  BUT, for this one did you see the stunning color?  I did some inkspritzing before scoring and folding.  Let it fully dry so your envelope won't rip.

Let's talk about the gorgeous colors and pattern in the bagalope above.  For most of my alternative kit projects this month I added lots of ink spritzing.  In Mini Misters I added 70% rubbing alcohol and about 6-8 drops of ink refill.  My colors include Coastal Cabana, Night of Navy, Blackberry Bliss, and Calypso Coral.

I spritzed through one of the luminary bags to get the firework and then misted a bit more color for lots of delightful color.  (You would have loved to have been in my class last week.  It was a blast making custom pages of layered color).

Speaking of spritzing color I jazzed up the luminary bags and some Dollar Tree white tissue pom poms to string a festive party garland.

I decorated one of each of the postcards from the kit to give my garland extra style.  I made accordion folded rosettes for each postcard using the envelopes from the Add On Pack of cards that matches the July Summer Nights Kit.

July's Summer Nights Kit is OUTfreakinSTANDING!  Because everything in this kit is fun and has a fabulous style, stampin' and creating was a total blast.  Be sure to hop to each designer in the links below for a full dose of Summer Nights awesome inspiration.

Summer Nights Paper Pumpkin

This week my blog posts will feature the awesome Summer Nights Paper Pumpkin Kit.  I have made tons of projects using the kit and the Add On Card Pack to Make cards, party favors, and decor. Keep coming back to see what's next and tune in Friday, 7/31 for a Facebook Live Event where you can see it all put together in one festive display.

Let's start with one of my favorites with the Mason jar piece.  I simply cut the lid off to give the illusion of the fireflies bursting out.  In real life this card is so sweet and charming.  I added Gold Glitter Enamel Dots and the Night of Navy narrow trim from the Playing With Patterns Ribbon Combo Pack.

For this kit I busted out Mini Misters and filled them with rubbing alcohol and ink refills to add layers of spritzed color to the labels, envelopes, and luminaries.  This label was colored with Coastal Cabana and Night of Navy.

This next card includes a couple fireworks in the jar.  One is spritzed using a luminary as a stencil and the other is stamped with one of the images from the kit.

Most often I try to find a clever use for the tissue in the kit if the color works.  This aqua tissue was a great match so I added a row of pleated tissue to the inside of the front flap for a pocket style card.

Check back tomorrow for my alternatives made using the Summer Nights Paper Pumpkin Kit.

Feelin' Sketchy

With the help of the above sketch from Hand Stamped Sentiments I made this card in a matter of about six minutes.  I grabbed products from the Wonder of the Season Suite for one of the first Christmas cards of the year for me.  This card features the North Pole Wonder Dies and two super awesome packs of Designer Series Papers.

I have mixed a couple packs of upcoming DSP from the Holiday Catalog.  One is called Wonder of the Season.  It's a specialty pack and has gorgeous red and gold foiling.  The second is a 6" x 6" sized pack of traditional holiday prints called Tis the Season.

Monday Montage 169

For this Monday Montage Blog Hop I thought I would share a beautiful Double Slider Gift Card featuring the All Things Fabulous Bundle.

My colors were inspired by the Peony Garden Suite and the DSP in that product line.  I used Gray Granite, Basic Gray, Petal Pink, Blushing Bride, and Granny Apple Green.

Here's a view of the card pulled open and the right side where I put the greeting.

And here is a full shot of the card when pulled open.  The left is the perfect size for a gift card.

Below are the cutting and scoring measurements for putting one of these fun interactive style cards together.  Try one, they are lots of fun.

Thanks for popping by today.  Next along the hop is the amazing Melissa Stout aka The Stamp Doc.

Sweet Suites Stampin' Fancy Friday

This is a fantastic challenge for Stampin' Fancy Friday.  All you do is pick a new suite and create whatever suits your liking using products from the collection.

My first suite from the new Stampin' Up! Catalog was the stunningly detailed Forever Greenery Suite.  All the gold touches are dreamy and luxurious when paired with the rich blend of colors, stamp imagery, fonts, ribbon combo pack, and the gorgeous die cuts.

Something as pretty as this needs attention and detailing on the inside of the card too.  Here's a look at the stamping for the inner panel.  My ink colors are Mossy Meadow, Pretty Peacock, and Pear Pizzazz.

I use the Rectangle Stitched Dies just about every time I sit down to stamp and create.  Lately I have enjoyed layering a panel of cardstock just inside the stitching line of a larger rectangle die cut. Here I used the second largest die to cut a panel of Very Vanilla.  Then I added a piece of Soft Seafoam to base the Granny Apple Green DSP from the Forever Greenery pack.

Let me chat about the gold details included on this card.  First, the Gold Hoop Embellishments.  I have gone through three packs since the start of the new caty!  They are incredible and have a super quality and sheen to them.  Take a close look and you'll see gold berries tucked here and there; those and the strip of gold at the bottom came from the Forever Gold Laser Cut Specialty Papers. Don't let me forget to mention that the entire pack of specialty papers is amazing.  Whether you use just bits and pieces from the pack or the larger statement pieces, these papers are a paper crafters dream.

Paper Pumpkin Sunshine Card Alternative

I adore the finished look of this card!  It's gorgeous and shimmery in real life.

At first glance it may not look like I haven't altered the original card base, but I did.  I fully deconstructed the front of the card.  First I used a Layering Circle Die to remove the gold center circle.  Then I cut all the sunburst rays apart and numbered them on their backs.  With Crushed Curry, Bumble Bee, and Mango Melody I sponged each ray keeping it darker in the centers and lighter towards the outer ends.  When I put the rays back together I intentionally overlapped and gapped the pieces to create a subtle bit of dimension.  I love how slivers of white peek through giving this card a stunning look.

BEACHIN'

Pull out your beach, shell, or underwater themed stamps, create a fabulous card. and link up with us at Hand Stamped Sentiments.  I grabbed the Timless Tropical Stamp Set and the In the Tropics Dies to make a fold out style card fit for this inspiration theme challenge.

When you untie the Linen Threads this card pulls out to reveal a grand row of palms. and the balance of the sentiment.

Here is a close up look of the greeting.  Colors for the image are Grey Granite and Pool Party.  I used Stampin' Write Markers to ink up the image in two-tones.  For the "aloha" I used a scrap of Brass Foil Paper.  Oh, how I love the color and sheen of this new foil.
