Scrapbook & Cards Today Artisan Post

One Saturday each month Scrapbook and Cards Today features a post by a member of the Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team.  This month they showcased three playful birthday cards made by me! You may want to check out the original post by clicking HERE and enter the giveaway to win the Stampin' Up! products I used in my project! Or, follow along below to see exactly what I put together for them.

I think every stamper has at least one or two or maybe even three or four birthday themed stamp sets in their stack of supplies.  In my stack of stamps I have the Blow Out the Candles Bundle and the Birthday Backgrounds stamp set.  These products are truly a perfect collection to create, and to create more, and to create even more cards for celebrations.

Each of these birthday cards features the same elements, sponging, and layout.  To start each card stamp and softly sponge a 3 3/4“ x 5” piece of Whisper White Cardstock using a Stampin’ Sponge and Coastal Cabana, Highland Heather, and Granny Apple Green Classic Ink Pads to create simple and custom backgrounds.

This “Happy Birthday” card panel is layered on a piece of Old Olive Cardstock and those two layers are popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals on a top fold 4 1/4” x 5 1/2” Highland Heather card base.  The outline images are stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and then filled in with Coastal Cabana, Highland Heather, and Granny Apple Green Classic Ink Pads.  I cut the greeting out using one of the ovals from the Stitched Shapes Framelits.

Cardstocks for this card include a layering panel of Highland Heather and a card base of Coastal Cabana.

The greeting for this card is cut with one of the round Stitched Shaped Framelits.  The cardstocks include a layering panel of Coastal Cabana and a card base of Old Olive All three cards are embellished with a sliver of Silver Glimmer Paper and a Solid Black Baker’s Twine shoestring bow.

I am always up for making birthday cards especially ones filled with fun and spirited colors and with products that mix and match with ease.  It’s my hope that you have been inspired to stamp.

Happy birthday card creating!
