More Eclectic for Monday Montage

Welcome stamp friends to our Monday Montage Blog Hop.  I have a second Oh So Eclectic card to share today using pieces I cut from a sheet of my own hand painted watercolor paper.  I used Pool Party, Bermuda Bay, and Calypso Coral ink to make a one-of-a-kind sheet of patterned paper.  From that I cut a bunch of flowers, leaves, swirls, and more flowers to make some cards.

Hand Stamped Sentiments #269 Inspiration Challenge

We are taking it to the waterfront, beach, dock, or where ever your summer time happy place may be.  For me I love the beach and the boardwalk.  For my spin on this inspiration challenge I decided to create a watercolored underwater kind of vibe for the Hand Stamped Sentiments #269 challenge.

I started by watercoloring a piece of watercolor paper with Calypso Coral, Pool Party, and Bermuda Bay Reinkers.  Then I cut bunches of things out from thinly sets like Swirly Scribbles (didn't use those yet), Lots of Lables (not those either), and Eclectic Layers.  I putzed and layered until I found a look that was workin' for me using the Eclectic Layers and Oh So Eclectic stamped images.  To bring it together I decided it needed a big banner.

One that looked like it was floating under water, so I pulled out the Bunch of Banners.

I love the sequins and how they kind of look like bubbles.

#TGIF117 Summertime Blues

#TGIF117 is a theme challenge and we are stampin' up anything that cures the Summertime Blues. 

Let's be real, we would all like to play everyday of the summer, but life includes reality checks and the includes earning of pay check!  Yes, this summer I did spend a beautiful week in the fabulous Tahoe Forest and it was awesome, but now I am back home and back to work.  The great thing about my home is that I live by the beach, lots of beaches.  After work we head over to Santa Cruz to play and soak up the sights, smells, and tastes of summer.

To help with the summertime blues I've put together a cute card honoring our homes and neighborhoods!

I started with a Very Vanilla Thick Card Stock base and then added a layer of Bundle of Love Specialty DSP.  Look close and you will see Vellum Card Stock details cut with the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits to add a bit of textural background.  Then the fun part is the little street made with the In the City Stamp Set.  My ink colors include Dapper Denim, Marina Mist, and Pool Party with Basic Black all stamped on Very Vanilla Card Stock.  Little splashes of Pink Pirouette are added here and there for fun.  And, as always, I added some bakers twine.  The Flirty Flamingo Bakers Twine is so SO versatile--it goes with everything!

Monday Montage #97

For Monday Montage I am sharing a cute card made with the Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set and Framelit Bundle.  Both the set and the framelit are MUST HAVE items for any stamper!  You know what else you need?  The Foil Frenzy DSP.  It's a pack of card stock weight patterned papers  glistening with awesome foiled colors.

Hand Stamped Sentiments #268

It's a cute sketch for the latest challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments.  Here is my take on the sketch.

My colors include Pool Party, Whisper White, Basic Grey, Flirty Flamingo, Emerald Envy, and Peekaboo Peach.  The stamp images are from the Bike Ride and Banners For You sets which were both super easy to cut thanks to their matching framelits.  For some added depth I included the Petal Burst and Softly Falling TIEFs.

#TGIF115 Color Challenge A Girly Bike

It's all about color for this week's challenge at TGIF.

#TGIF115 includes Lemon Lime Twist, Tranquil Tide, and Berry Burst.

I started by grabbing a scrap of Lemon Lime Twist from the Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper Stack.  I layered the scrap on a Lemon Lime Twist card base that has been embossed with the Petal Burst TIEF.  Then I had some fun stamping and cutting images from the Bike Ride stamp set and matching framelits.

I love the little added bits of Silver Glimmer Paper and shiny spots made with the Fine Tip Glue Pen.

Monday Montage Bricks and a Bouquet

Wow, is Stampin' Up!'s Embossing Paste super amazing!   I have used other paste and it's good stuff. But the super cool benefit of SU!'s paste is the ultra fast no fuss drying time.

For this card I smoothed some paste through the brick stencil of the Pattern Party set on Early Espresso card stock.  Then in the time I cut a few flowers the paste was fully cured.  Speaking of flowers, these are both Powder Pink and Pink Pirouette.  I used both colors to add some depth to the bouquet.

Creation Station In Color Blog Hop

Being that it is the first Sunday of the month it's time for a Creation Station Blog Hop!

You have arrived here from an amazing stamper's blog--Breelin Renwick.  She and I have been hopping together for Monday Montage for several years.  And now we are lucky to have her sharing with us all at Creation Station!!! 

All of my cards feature one or two of the 2017-2019 In Colors, the Lovely Words Thinlits, and the Eclectic Layers Thinlets and a variation of pleats.   I haven't added a pleated accent of DSP to a card in a super long time.  The last time I did was for a post on my blog in 2011, so I thought I would give it go.  (You can see that post by clicking here).

For this card I filled in the word hugs with a Fine Tip Glue Pen.  In person it looks like grape jelly.

Here's how you make the Box Pleats for the Tranquil Tide and Fresh Fig cards:

• Cut a strip of designer paper or cardstock 1.5”-3.5" x 9"-12”.

• Using the Simply Scored Tool score the strip at 1”, 1.25”, 2”, 2.25”, 3”, 3.25”, 4”, 4.25”, 5”, 5.25”, 6”, 6.25”, 7”, 7.25”, 8”, 8.25”, 9", 9.25", 10", and 10.25".

• Fold on the scorelines by folding the first score back and the second forward, then the third score should fold forward and the fourth should fold back.  Repeat this pattern to form the box pleats.

• Glue pleats in place.

• Align folded pleats on card front, adhere to card, and trim sides where needed.
