HSS #267 Goes for Intense Colors

Lemon Lime Twist, Dapper Denim, and Rich Razzleberry are the colors we are putting together for Hand Stamped Sentiments current color challenge.  These rich saturated colors are perfect for a punch of summer fun.  Punch you ask?  Yeah, the Lemon Lime Twist adds a spunk and brightness to the denim and berry tones that fits the hot summer weather of June here in San Jose!

My take on today's color challenge is totally inspired by Susan Wong's Pieces and Patterns card found on the Crafty Carrot Collective Blog Hop.  Their hop is fabulously amazing, but Susan's card said "case me" and so I did.

I have used the Pieces and Patterns stamp set with Basic Black Archival Ink along with both Shimmer White and Whisper White Thick Card Stocks.  I did some quick watercoloring and fussy cutting then finished with a bit of Basics Pack 2 Washi Tape and strip of Eastern Palace DSP.
For the colors I added in some Powder Pink ink and Flirty Flamingo Bakers Twine.  I have picked up a couple new colors of twine and I am lovin' them.  The Dapper Denim and Flirty Flamingo twines are so awesome.  Can I just say that I love twine!

#TGIF113 Bokeh Bouquet

For #TGIF113 we are showcasing a cool technique that many stamp enthusiasts enjoy.  It's the Bokeh technique.
There is a Japanese term for the subjective aesthetic quality of out-of-focus areas of a photographic image called Bokeh (pronounced "boo-kay" or "bow-kay).  It has been a fun stamping technique that has been floating around for a while, and at TGIF the designers are giving it a try this week.
For my take on this technique I "bokehed" on one of the lightest sheets of Wood Textures DSP.  I inked circles using Berry Burst, Sweet Sugarplum, Flirty Flamingo, Peekaboo Peach, and Whisper White.

Once I had a super cool background page I decided to create a bouquet for my bokeh ;0)

I cut lots of flowers from the Beautiful Bouquet Framelits set and then watercolored them with the same inks I used to create my bokeh background and an AquaPainter.  To give the bouquet some interest I added Gold Glimmer leaves and Linen Thread to bind the stems.

Monday Montage #95

It's Monday Montage time!  I am showing you all my Lemon Zest Bundle card.
I whipped this card up using some new toys I received in my first new catalog order.  To start I used the Lemon Zest Bundle which comes with the Lemon Zest Stamp Set and a matching Lemon Builder Punch. The limes are stamped on Whisper White Card Stock with Pear Pizzazz, Wild Wasabi, and Old Olive inks.  I was super jazzed to see the addition of Thick Very Vanilla Card Stock which I used for my card base.  The bottom 2/3 has been embossed with the Layered Leaves Dynamic Embossing Folder.  I tucked a Fabulous Foil Designer Acetate tag behind my greeting and the limes which I think adds just the right pop of pow.  The greeting is stamped with Fresh Fig and Old Olive and cut using the Stitched Shapes Framelits.  A shoestring bow of Lemon Lime Twist Ombre Ribbon and Gold Metallic Thread were used to finish it all up.

HSS #266 Wood Textures

Rustic wood, delicate daisies, and touches of crocheted lace fill our inspiration board for Hand Stamped Sentiments latest challenge.  This board is timed just right to highlight several new products from the recently released
Creativity Your Way Annual Catalog.
It was a no brainer to reach for my new Wood Textures DSP, and the Pinewood Planks Dynamic TIEF to get the started on my card.
I think this background paper is so cool when embossed with the Pinewood Planks folder.  It looks just like hardwood flooring.  To continue on creating with the inspiration board in mind I reached for the Beautiful Bouquet Bundle, So Saffron ink, Peekaboo Peach ink, and Whisper White card stock.
To make the shiny dimensional greeting I first cut the Happy Birthday Thinlit from Early Espresso Card Stock.  Then I sat in on top of a Silicon Craft Sheet and coated the entire piece with glue from the Fine-Tip Glue Pen.  What I am not good at is waiting not to touch the glue before it's completely dry.  Once totally dry the look and feel is shiny pliable plastic.

#TGiF111 Shiny Stuff

It's a super cool landscape style sketch for this week's #TGIF111 Challenge and I LUV it!
This sketch challenge came just in time to put some new product to use.  One of my first must have items I ordered from the new caty was the Happy Birthday Gorgeous Bundle.  When it comes to thinlits and framelits I am always drawn to the word/text dies.  So, this is why this bundle was not only in my first order, but it was the first thing I used from the order.
My ink colors include:  Powder Pink, Peekaboo Peach, Flirty Flamingo, Sweet Sugarplum, and Berry  Burst.  The card base is Powder Pink and the strip of pattern paper is from the Wood Textures DSP.
I was intrigued by a technique shared by Dani Dziama where she used the Fine Tip Glue Pen to make her framelit cut out dimensional and shiny.  As soon as my first new order arrived I tried her technique and was totally jazzed with how awesome it turned out.

To get the shiny look simply squeeze the Fine Tip Glue Pen to paint the entire surface of your desired piece or area.  Once my "happy birthday" piece was dry I layered it on two more cut "happy birthdays" to give the die cut a thicker and more dimensional in appearance.
Thanks for stoppin' by today and lettin' me say happy Friday and bring on the weekend!
Now go stamp something amazing :0)

Monday Montage #94

I am loving' the Wood Words stamp set and matching Wood Crate Framelits.  I can think of lots of people I would want to give a crate full of love and thanks to, because I am lucky to have many amazing friends in my life.
I am not a huge bright pink fan, but this new Berry Burst In Color is gorgeous.  It mixes with lots of colors like other pinks and corals along with light and dark neutrals.  Speaking of neutrals the Wood Textures DSP is 100% full of the most beautiful neutral wood backgrounds.  I can see buying multiple packs of this paper for sure.

Creation Station's Something Old with Something New

June is bustin' out all over as it's the season for something old and something new.  If you are a Stampin' Up! lover you know it's the most wonderful time of the stamp year and the beginning of the new Annual Catalog.  This years Creativity Your Way is AMAZING and FABULOUSLY OUTSTANDING.
For this month's Something Old with Something New I am mixing the Eastern Palace Suite with lots of returning products found in the new Creativity Your Way, Annual Catalog 2017-2018.
I love LOVE this card!  It is BEAUTIFUL in person.  I have mixed the Window Box Thinlits with the Eastern Palace Suite for this beauty.  My favorite sticker in the Eastern Gold Vinyl Stickers is the six-pointed flower because it fits the coordinating Eastern Medallions thinlit to a "T."  A Metal Rimmed Pearl Accent (returning) finishes the center of the flower and a few light pink Glitter Enamel Dots (new and I love them a ton) embellish the card.
The specialty piece of paper in the Eastern Palace DSP is the perfect weight for making a window box.  I like to wrap a belly band around the box for added stability and a way of finishing the look yet the inside of the box remains accessible.
The Vellum Card Stock (returning) flower is made with (3) of the "daisy" and (2) of the six-pointed flower Eastern Medallion Thinlit cut outs.  A Glitter Enamel Dot anchors the center of the flower.
Here is another mix of something old with something new.  It's a blend of the Gift Bag Punch Board, the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits, and Dapper Denim Card Stock with Eastern Palace DSP, Eastern Medallions Thinlits, Eastern Gold Vinyl Stickers, and the Glitter Enamel Dots.

#TGIF105 Textured Hexagon Wild

It's color challenge time at TGIF!  For #TGIF110 we are combining my favorite color Bermuda Bay
with Peekaboo Peach and Basic Black.
This card features my wild hexagon background paper!
I was driving and thinking of a stamp idea.  I thought what would it look like to watercolor the Dynamic Hexagon TIEF?  So, I gave it a try for this color challenge since I had nothing in my stash with these colors.  I think I would do it again because it was fun and I like how it turned out.
