TGIF #75 Peekaboo

Oh wow have I been waiting to CASE Bibi's totally adorable baby cards.  Though I didn't have any, none, nada, nothing, not a single stamp or tool that she used I was determined to make a "peekaboo" card of my own.  In my stash I have the Bear Hugs stamps and framelits.  So, there you have it I tackled the biggest hurdle which was where to start.  From there the rest of the card fell in place with ease!

Do be sure to check out what the favorites that design team cased over at TGIF.  The go ahead and pick your favorite entry and do a little casing yourself.   We're excited to see what you make.

HSS #247 Fiesta

Finally!  Yes, I finally put some ink to my Birthday Fiesta stamp set.  Seriously my top of the list new item that I could hardly stand to wait for to purchase from the Annual Catalog was the entire Birthday Fiesta suite of products.  So, on June 1st my order was in and I'm just now, in the middle of September, getting my act together to create a party on a card.  The sketch challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments this week was perfect for helping me to get things going.  You know sometimes you just need a little push to get you rolling and stampin' along.

Monday Montage #78

One of the images from a new set in the Holiday catalog has quickly moved into one of the top spots of my favorite stamps.  The Suite Seasons stamp set is full of greetings in a fabulous variety of fonts perfect for the fall holidays and more.

I used three markers, Basic Black, Real Red, and Emerald Envy, to ink up the "happy always" image and stamped on Whisper White.  As soon as I lifted the block to reveal my stamped piece of paper it was an instant crush and love for the hand drawn typography.  It was so perfect and appealing as just one image on white card stock.  So, I set out to make a simple, a simpler, and then the simplest Christmas card.
Here is the simple clean layered version of my "happy always" card.  It's just one layer popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals, a skinny strip of Warmth and Cheer DSP, and a quick shoestring bow tied with the Garden Green Bakers Twine.
My simpler version includes a quick bakers twine bow.  The Garden Green twine can be found in the Bakers Twine Trio Pack in the Holiday Catalog.  Along with the Garden Green the pack comes with Cherry Cobbler and Metallic Gold.
The simplest version of my cards is my favorite.  It's clean and crisp; it says everything and evokes a sweet spirit of the season.

TGIF #73 Positively "Happy" Negative

Check this challenge from TGIF.  It's the coolest theme challenge I have seen in a very long time.  All you do is die cut or punch any shape you like and use the negative piece as your focal point.  For my card I knew exactly what I wanted to do.  I was looking to create a clean and crisp red and white Christmas card.
Though this card is clean and simple in design it was not fast.  It didn't take a super long time, yet care had to be taken to set all the die cut pieces in place.  After I ran the Hello You Thinlet through my Big Shot I did NOT remove the "happy" from the Real Red Card Stock.  Instead I turned it over and added tiny pieces of Stampin' Dimensionals to all the negative pieces I wanted to keep.  Then I flipped it all over and attached it to a Whisper White Card Stock base.  I used a Paper Piercer to gently remove the thinlet.  To finish I added my MOST VERY favorite twine ever (love that stuff) the metallic red and white from the Candy Cane Lane pack
and a pair of Mini Jingle Bells.
