What's Up?

Hello and welcome to a sketch challenge brought to you by Hand Stamped Sentiments.  This is a clean and simple single layer look that is light a carefree which fits the spring season.  I have combined the What's Up stamp set and arrow punch for my spin on the sketch.  My colors are Tangelo Twist, Bermuda Bay, Rich Razzleberry, and Basic Black on Whisper White.  For added interest I tacked on some hearts and sequins.

Chalkboard Paper Goodness!

So I saw this card on Pinterest that I loved and it had the coolest background paper.  As I studied it I realized it was a big lace stamp that I didn't have anything like...or did I?  I did!  Only it wasn't a stamp, it was an embossing folder.  To achieve a similar look I inked up the debossed side of the Lovely Lace TIEF and ran it through the Big Shot with a piece of Chalkboard Paper.  That paper is so awesome.  It's pure paper goodness.  I did use the Rose Chalk Ink Pad which in person gives the card an extra "pow" of pizzazz.
The light look of the greeting provides a balance to the visual weight of the background.  The image comes from the Build a Bouquet stamp set.  It was also stamped with the Rose Chalk ink.  There are three different washi tapes on the card.  I have become a bit obsessed with washi tape and have a bin full of which I'm not sure which comes from which pack.

Direct To Rubber Watercolor

A technique I enjoy is 'Direct To Rubber Watercoloring.'  It's simple, cool looking, and fashionable unpredictable.  Just ink up and then paint with water following the direction of the image.  If you are wanting a crisp image this is not the technique for your project.  If you want whimsical and blended try it out.

I have used the So Very Happy stamp set and a palette of Hello Honey, Tangelo Twist, and Strawberry Slush Stampin' Write Markers.  The "happy" greeting was cut forma piece of Sahara Sand card stock and then paint washed with Night of Navy ink.

A Quirky Card

It's color challenge time over at Hand Stamped Sentiments and this is a fun one.  It's actually perfect for guy cards which is what I started out doing and then... I added them pom pom trim.  It quickly went from a cool masculine card to a quirky and spirited card.  Once I tacked on the trim with Mini Glue Dots there was no going back, so I kept going and embellished with Basic Rhinestones.

The chevron image is from the Work of Art stamp set.  I inked it up with Stampin' Write Markers from the color challenge and stamped it on a Whisper White card base.  I used the Hello You framelits to cut the three "hellos."
