Pretty Amazing

Greetings Monday Montage Hoppers!  Today I am sharing a pretty autumnal hued card featuring the Amazing Birthday stamp set.  When I sat down to create I found myself totally inspired by a card crafted by Kimberly Van Diepen.  I seriously love her style and everything she posts on her blog.

I started with a 4 1/4" x 11" piece of Early Espresso card stock and then creased it in half for a top fold card.  A quick run through the Big Shot and the Modern Mosaic TIEF was added for some background depth and texture.  Next, I stamped the greeting image twice on Crumb Cake card stock with Bermuda Bay and Early Espresso ink pads.  I cropped a few pieces of the Bermuda Bay image and then layered them on top of the Early Espresso image.  Behind the Crumb Cake image I mixed in four complimenting ribbons of which I cut the 1 1/4" Burlap Ribbon with the Large Scallop Edgelit.  A gold mini clothes pin tied with Linen Thread and a row of Basic Pearls finished the Crumb Cake stamped piece and the card.

Hand Stamped Sentiments Square Sketch

I've made a 4 1/4 " cute square card for the latest sketch challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments.  I pulled out a new stamp set from the Holiday Catalog called Mingle All the Way.  It's a perfect set for fall holiday stampin'.

Quick and Cute Amazing Birthday

With a few Stampin' Write Markers and Very Vanilla cardstock I put together a quick card with a stamp from the Amazing Birthday stamp set.  Just one simple addition of Bakers Twine and I had a cute card ready to go.  My colors are Tangelo Twist, Rich Razzleberry, and Bermuda Bay (my favorite teal tone right now).

Handmade Rick Rack

 I have something quick and easy to share for our Monday Montage Blog Hop.  I have made my own handmade rick rack using the Envelope Punch Board.  I started with a 1" x 5 1/2" strip of cardstock.  Then I put the long edge of the strip in the board with the far end aligned at the 5" mark and then punched the knob.  The next step is to position the strip at 4" and then punch, then 3" punch, 2'' punch, 1" punch and then one last punch with the end right in the middle of the opening of the punch, the opening where you start the scoring.  Rotate the strip of paper 180" and punch again at 5", 4", and so on.  That finishes your rick rack.

To layer a piece on top I started with a 3/4" x 5 1/2" DSP and then punched exactly the same way as the 1" strip of cardstock.  Pretty cool don't you think?  I thought I was pretty clever.  Speaking of clever, venture on through the entire hop and be inspired.

The Jinglin' Beat

Gather round, mix and mingle, for "tis the season" is on it's way!  Over at Hand Stamped Sentiments we are kicking off the holiday pre-pre season with a classical color challenge sure to please the traditionalist.

So, there is a new pack of DSP coming in the Holiday Catalog and it's fabulously fancy.  It's the weight of cardstock, it's kraft colored, and full of charming prints perfect for the holidays.  It's called Under the Tree.  For this card I went lickity split and finished in record time.  I cut an 11" x 4 1/4" strip and cut the word "jingle" with the Little Letter Framelits across the bottom.  To really pop  the letters and make them be the star of the show I backed the cut outs with another small strip of DSP from the Under the Tree pack.  A shoestring bow of Linen Thread and Cherry Cobbler Bakers Twine on top and then a Baked Brown Sugar star finished it all up.  This is the perfect type of card to mass produce for the busy fast paced season of the holidays.

I Like Little Letters

Greetings fellow stamp friends!  For this Monday Montage Blog Hop I am sharing a card from my stamp class last month.  Since I really like the Little Letters Framelits I knew I wanted to showcase them on a card for class.  

To one of my recent stamp orders I added the Sweet Sadie Washi Tape.  The colors of the tape were the inspiration for my card: Crisp Cantaloupe, Pistachio Pudding, Smokey Slate, Basic Black and Whisper White.  I worked in reverse order on this card.  I started with the chevron image from A Work of Art which I inked up with markers.  Then I added the strips of washi tape and then I wondered what to do next.  From there I added the Little Letters as the focal point.  Since this card was for a stamp class I didn't want to use too many letters so I kept the word short.  Then I noticed "hi" fit perfectly in one of the Word Bubbles Framelits.  The last element for the card was a scrunchy flower which I made with a 7/8" Scallop Circle Punch and a Basic Rhinestone.
