I had an afternoon free the other day so I busted out my January Paper Pumpkin kit and sat down to stamp and create. The stamps and pieces are fabulous. The card bases have these super cool cut outs in chevron and triangle shapes and the self sticking die cuts are whimsical and flashy. I had a few bits sitting on my stamp table and they worked perfectly with the kit so I added them to the mix. I added some ribbon and rhinestones (they are always out) and a few framelit pieces from the Label Card Thinlits Dies.

Stamp as it Goes
Welcome to another Monday Montage Blog Hop! I have a question for you stampers. Do you create a card with a plan and an idea of knowing what you 're going to make? Or, do you just pull out paper and start adding elements and let the creative process guide you to a finished product? For me I do both, but I am truly happy when I have time to indulge in the creative process guiding me to something unexpected. Today's post features one of those creations.
I had absolutely no plan to make a Valentine card, but I had strips of Modern Medley DSP on my table and and they looked great on Real Red card stock. I also had some Red Glimmer and Gold Foil arrows from an earlier project so I threw them in the mix and knew for sure I was making a love themed card. My next step was to find a stamp that would fit right in, so I grabbed Perfectly You. The stamp set was a hostess set in the Holiday Catalog--it's such an awesome set. I cut the hearts with the Hearts a Flutter Framelits and my last details are all about Gold Glitter, Gold Bakers Twine, and Sequins.

Ampersand Love
I can't seem to put my new Ampersand TIEF away--it's a new favorite for me. I have used it on the last three cards I have made and it's still on my stamp table ready to use again, and yes it's all inked up with Whisper White ink. Why all the ink? I have mentioned in the past how much I like the look of the finished product when preinking a TIEF and then running it through the Big Shot; well that is still true. I just love the quick and easy dimension and design the ink adds to all the ridges of the folders.
I made this "love ya" card for the latest color challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments. You can see I started with a Wisteria Wonder card base and then I embossed the front for texture and design. I knew I wanted to add a faux strung garland, so I pulled out the Silver Bakers Twine to string it up. To be able to wrap the twine around a couple times I punched small half circles out of each side to anchor the strands.
I stamped my garland pieces using the Language of Love stamp set on In Color DSP, Whisper White, and Wisteria Wonder with Basic Grey ink. I used the coordinating punches to crop each of the images and then added Dazzling Diamonds glitter to the hearts. For the greeting I used one of the images from Just Sayin'. Now that I am done blabbing be sure to click on over to Hand Stamped Sentiments and see all the projects made with the Wisteria Wonder, Strawberry Slush, and Coastal Cabana color combination.Sunday, January 5, 2014
Playin' with New Stamp Toys
Hello and Happy New Year. For today's Monday Montage post I thought I would share the only thing I have made this whole year. (I know new years jokes are really dumb, but seriously I have not stamped a thing since way before Christmas). I finally unpacked a few new toys that I received in the beginning of December--yikes! So, do you want to know what one thing I am way WAY in love with? Nothing major like the word bubble framelits, nope I have a new love and it's called SILVER BAKERS TWINE!!! Move over linen thread there's a new kid in town. Just kidding I could never dismiss linen thread it's the bomb. I wish my photo would showcase the great bit of sparkle that the twine has as it's subtle and super cool. I also have a few other new favorites like the ampersand TIEF and the SAB paper. I don't know what it's called and I am too lazy to go look it up, but it's fresh, sassy, and fun.
