2013 Artisan Finalist Project #3

Three of the ten projects you send in for the Artisan Contest include scrapbook pages, either 8" x 8", 8 1/2" x 11", or 12" x 12". All three of mine were 12" x 12" as I wanted as much space as possible to share ideas. This traditional page is based on a piece of Basic Black card stock which was swiped with a Whisper White ink pad to create eraser marks. From there I grabbed lots of DSP and card stock strips to create arrows of different shapes and sizes. Each arrow was hand made using a 1 3/8" square punch and some were texturized with embossing folders. Once I had a layout to highlight my photo of Baxter, my favorite dog in the whole world, I stitched them down with my sewing machine and black thread. I used this photo of Baxter even though it is not the greatest quality, but it seriously made my day when I saw him waiting at the door with his beard full of blossoms--SERIOUSLY he was too cute that day!  As Bonnie Thurber said at Convention "the quality of the photo doesn't matter if it has captured the memory." Thanks Bonnie for the reassurance!
Last year one of my favorite new products were the Hearts of Flutter Framelits and the Cute Clips, so I busted them out for this page along with lots of embossing powders. I also should say the color on these photos is weird because it was super overcast the day they were taken. It seemed that I couldn't get a day with good sun for pictures so I had to settle for the overcast look.

The banners are so fun and you are so smart for creating your arrows with the punch like that! I will definitely have to give that a try! Thanks for sharing!
